Mapping Problem

<div class="IPBDescription">Buildings fall through floor?</div> Hey,

I've decided to build a map for NS. I first tried to make a testmap for NS to test if i could create the commander mode. But when i start the level and i spawn in the marine base, the buildings seem to have sunk (half) through the floor. Also when i try to drop new buildings, they also fall half through the floor. Weird bug, huh? <!--emo&???--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/confused.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='confused.gif'><!--endemo-->

I searched on the forums and on other sites to find a solution but I can't seem to fix the problem.
Also, when i walk against a wall i can see through the wall a little bit. I think that it has something to do with the model sizes or the FGD or something...

    Sounds like you are not using the ns hull file. nshulls.hull needs to be set as a parameter for CSG.

    Avoid the bottom to be on Z=0 (height 0) and avoid really thin floors.

But when I build a building it' completed in 1 second... can't it be slowed down to normal building speed? I tried to look for sprites but i can't find it. Or should it be configured on the server (console?)

    Isn't there a place where all these basic NS things are written down?
    Because i can understand that it's real annoying that i'm asking these questions <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo-->

    As for building fast, it's because sv_cheats is enabled. sv_cheats causes buildings to be built VERY fast and allows cheat codes to be used. It's on by default when you start a server. You can turn this off in advanced server options or by typing "sv_cheats 0" in the console.

    Basic NS things are all posted at the very top of every section of this messageboard. Just look at the stickies above.
