Yeah, but someone can always observe the fight and take screens. I see lots of screenshots taken that way, and since they won't be in the actual fight, they won't have to worry about releasing their finger from the fire button to take a screen.

Very nice, I can't wait for NS to come out! Oh wait... Yes I can, because the longer it takes, the more amazing features there'll be, and fewer bugs too! Take your time!

Even when you're dead, you usually aren't dead long enough to catch the epic battles, especially if you keep dieing during them.

Don't worry, though. I'm sure that once all the alien models get put in, there will be an increase in "battle" shots.

When people die in NS, do they go straight to the Ready Room, or do they spectate for a bit??

Jeez. Don't know how I missed this thread for so long.

    Icons 101:

As several people have noted, the yellow icon seen in the RR screens is indeed the "use item" icon. It may be a bit hard to make out there, but it's just a hand moving towards some buttons. If the help function is turned on, this and other identifier icons will appear on map objects to help newbies locate weldables, buttons, etc.

The blue one is one of the order sprites. These sprites appear at the point where a commander gives a marine (or multiple marines) an order. When the screens were taken, the order pictured was probably "deploy objective at waypoint", which really means "build this here." But, the icon you see (the soldier) was really meant to be the "guard" order. There is another icon for build, but it must have just been mixed up at some point.

The little circular piece of the upper HUD will (I hope) be home to a small animated overwatch indicator. There will probably be a few much more in-your-face indications when overwatch becomes active, but you'll have to wait and see.

Hey Relic, will these icons be changable? I know that in CS for example, you can change the blood, explosions, smokepuffs, etc..., which are of the Sprite flavor. Will this be the same for NS?? The reason for why i'm wondering is primarily for the 'helping' icons -- i'm sure they'll be wicked helpful at first, but they also seem kinda large and attention getting. If i wanted to play a map which i'm mildly comfortable with, yet i still want help, am i gonna have to stare at these huge yellow blobs? Or, will i be able to change the sprite to modify their color, size, style, etc etc? Thanks.

Sprites can be changed, using a graphics program, a good knowledge of colour palettes and a few cool programs from Wavelength. Have fun now.

Sorry I took so long to check back on this thread.

I don't think there will be anything that will necessarily prevent you from replacing the help icons, but remember that you will always be able to just toggle them on and off. So really, if they get annoying to look at (as everything does eventually), you can just turn them off. You won't need to replace the sprites in order to stop seeing them.
