yes, thats how my setup is. But i'm telling you now, you cannot host 22 players on a 512k upload.

zippy, listen to people when they tell you it won't work, to run a *good* 22 person server you're going to need UPWARDS of 110KBytes/sec which for most connection listings would show up as 880KBits/sec,and even with that speed, you'd have to hope that everything worked perfectly all the time.

on that 512k connection you could probably host ~10 ppl reliably (but don't quote me on that since I've never tried seriously running a server on a residential line)

I'm confused ... his unedited post says 1 megabit, not 512 kilobit. Maybe he said it's 512 in the second post, then edited it out ... dunno.

Anyway, if it's one megabit up and down, then it should be fine. Whether or not the provider will shut down his line because it's always maxed out, is another story. <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo--> Depends on if it's a residential or business class connection.

In my experince, 640kbit is more than enough for 16 players. Each player uses 2-3KB/s upstream, so thoretically I (640kbit line) could host 26 players. However, a buffer is nice, so I allocate 5KB/s upstream per player leaving the max possible players at 16. But due to my server's slow CPU (Duron 800), it can only handle 12 players before performance becomes unnacceptable.
