Anyone else notice that in first person view the HMG doesn't seem to be pointed forward? it seems ti be pointed at the center of the screen but it looks like he's shooting at something next to him, It becomes really obvious if you compare it to a screenshot of a LMG

It's not quite so noticable but yes it's definately there.  I really don't have any gripes with it though, looks just fine to me.

By letting the gun angle towards the middle of the screen, the kickin model is shown off better. I really think that's all there is to it.

    anyone have a pic?

I played "They Hunger 3" for a few days last week because my internet connection was down. There was an SMG, the only one of the many weapon models, that had the friggin tip of the model's barrel was at the center of the screen, just like the crosshair was, but lower. I never got used to it....you aim at someone with the crosshair and it doesn't even look like the gun is pointing at them. At times it was hard to see my crosshair and I would end up completely missing enemies because I was "pointing" the gun where I thought the bullets should go but I was missing by a large distance.

I don't even know if this is what you guys are talking about but I thought I would vent =) Please post a pic of what you are discussing.

    Thanks

It may be a little off, but that was the first weapon included in the game, and a couple of the guys busted their butts just to get it in on a super tight schedule  so we could include some original weaponry in the mod expo build.  It'll be refined (especially as the additional animations are included), so I think you're looking at a work in progress.

Plus, (fearing Flayra's wrath) my first goal once all the items I owe are in is redesigning that thing.

I'm wondering, has anyone who's played Counter-Strike recently downloaded the 'Fusion Pack 6.5?' Well, it includes a bunch of really cool weapon models. How is this relevant? Well, most of the weapons are very close to centered on the screen, or, if they're off-center, they're aimed almost straight ahead (see pic). This gives the appearance of 'looking down the barrel', which is pretty darn cool. I tend to prefer this doom/classic quake - styled 'centered' weapons configuration. Perhaps the NS models will be something slightly similar to this? It would make me happy  <!--emo&:p--><img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':p'><!--endemo-->  heh..

Here we see 2 pics: the one on the left is regular, right sided and pointing towards the cetner. the one on the right is more centered style -- the base of it is more in the center of the screen, and its angle is more straightfoward.

    yay.
