I Cant Join Servers

Out of a list of 458 servers, I have found 2 i can join. the rest say, you must install custom game. If I don't have game installed, how can I play on 2 servers? And even more aggravating, every time I update the list of servers, it wipes out all my counter-strike and day of defeat favorites. So not only can I not play this game, but its screwing up my others! the game is great when I can play, but im seriously thinking of uninstalling it.

Don't use the desktop shortcut, it's bunk. Either use the one supplied in the Start menu or run HL.exe and go to the "custom games" menu and activate NS from there.

You don't even have to join a server activating the NS mod . If you have another mod installed use its shortcut and then on the internet games filter for NS games.

Thanks for replying, and not making too much fun of me! I did do a forum search, but I'm a noob to that too.
Anyway, game works fine now, and I think I like it better than cs or d0d.
