Servers Wont Accept My Wonid!

<div class="IPBDescription">wtf?</div> i was about to play on a 1.04h server..but i was notifyed that my wonid had not been accepted...i simply restarted...same problem..restarted again...same problem...i reinstalled NS..SAME PROBLEM!

i do not understand what was going wrong! it has never done this before, i have fairly bought a legal copy of the game (so im not some jerk that just copied it), and i want to play 1.04! can you tell me what the hell is going on??

    yeah it happened before to me aswell, but as you say...i was fixed by a simple reboot..but this time it still happens..maybe id better see if it is still playing up...maybe it was just some annoying thing that passes after a while...mmm

    nope it still doesnt work.
    i also tried to reinstall HL, but it couldnt find the unistaller! i looked on the back and its all scratched :C...i also uninstalled my CS retail..is that a problem?? is that the reason why NS isnt working???

    If WON is not accepting your WON ID then it could be a couple things. Somebody has your WON ID and is playing at the same time that you are trying to join, or Valve has your WON ID on it's list of compromised WON IDs and has made it un-acceptable.

    well it cant be either...
    because i havent done anything wrong for my WONID to be removed without warning...
    and wouldnt it say that my WONID was already in use? and not just:

    "could not authenticate WONID"....

    Yea won.net has alot of issues right now. I also get that message, but
    what I do is keep hitting retry it will eventually go through just have a
    little patience it will work <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo-->.

    Sometimes when it wont go through I will join a CS game then go back to
    another mod and join it.

    One more thing you could do is try connecting with a different program
    such as ASE, In game, or HLSW. Try these options should work

    this is really starting to annoy me.
    retrying has no effect, i even went to WON.net and downloaded their crappy "registration" software, and guess what?

    IT DOESNT WORK!.

    You may have not done anything wrong, but it still could have gotten on Valves ban list. You may have come into contact with a CD Key stealer program at some point, or your WON ID could have been on one of the Myg0t lists.

    If it was me I would contact Valve with my WON ID and let them know of the problem.

    aw **** this ****...ill just buy another HL and install it...its not worth the hassle of trying to work out wtf has gone wrong with this ****...nothing seems to work.....but i tell you now, if the second £20 i dish out on HL generations doesnt fix the problem i will go mad.

    unless anyone has an actual clue as to why my WONID is no longer valid...
    could be that worm? or maybe some **** admin thought it would be funny to muck with my HD???

    is your original halflife cd very old? i remember someone once telling me that there is a cd key generator made for version 1.0.0.0 and a few versions later valve changed the cd key algorythm so the key gen doesnt work on anything newer than 1.0.0.2 or so. anyway, you dont care about that, the thing is they banned all of the original cd keys because the keygen is so readily availiable.

    a friend of mine's legitimate cd key from 1.0.0.0 doesnt work anymore, but my original is 1.0.0.5 and it is fine. this sounds like your problem, however you should have noticed the issue over a year ago.

    Was HL 1.0.0.0 out? I buyed it a few days or maybe a week or two after the release and I had version 1.0.0.5... Maybe they released it sooner in the USA.
