List Of Unscrupulous Servers

hacked maps
let's make a list of servers that we shouldn't join because they have messed with things.

i heard some servers have maps hacked to have certain special effects removed from them because the servers are too weak they cannot handle them. I'd just like to say that just because your server is crap doesn't give you the right to crappify someone elses mod so that it can run on your crap server.

i believe Misfire's server is one such server. please post others you know.

Whilst I disapprove of people changing maps for aesthetic reasons, I can't blame server ops for stripping out any entities they can get away without, if only until NS is optimized to the point where their servers can run them. I'm never going to be annoyed at enthusiasm for NS. Having said that, I know that the NS mappers aren't tremendously pleased with ops doing this kind of thing. So I would ask people to consider the feelings of mappers who have contributed "LARGE PARTS OF THEIR LIFE" to making these maps for you to play on, before haphazardly hacking at them.

I really don't play on any NS server under 16 people, it fact I haven't played NS in the last week or so since I was helping the PVK team (actually being helped), to make a map for the game. But I still don't play on servers where you feel all alone.

WE MUST KEEP NS PURE! NONE OF THE HALF BREED SERVERS! PURITY ABOVE ALL!

Geez, give the people who are kind enough to provide servers for us a break. They make them available for free. Show a bit of gratitude.

Geez, why the hostilities against meta-modding and custom tweaking? How does it make a game worse in general?

Which would you rather play in:

A server with all the neat looking particle systems in that has 350 ping or one without thoes neat little particle systems with 150 ping?

As a mapper i can see how it would be annoying to see people pull the cool looking entities out of the maps but its not really that big of a problem, and the maps are still fine without them

I've got a better idea, why don't you make a list of servers that you won't join, and we'll use your list to see where we can get a nice peaceful game.

I've got an even better idea. Make the list, and keep it to yourself. Your whole crusade against 'bastardized' NS servers is growing tiresome, vipr.
