Original Khaara "models"

I don't know if this is just me, but after having looked at the skins for the Khaara awhile back I got the feeling that they were scanned. Something about them reminds me of plasticene models, I'm not sure if thats the word I'm looking for. Maybe one of the devs could clear this up for me. I wouldn't find that level of professionalism too surprising

    They were made from scratch...

hmm...I think he means did they make the models in plasticine first, then scanned those models to create the skins for the models

Jim, thats exactly what I meant. I know that a lot of commercial games have done this. There's speculation that the original Doom sprites were scanned from "puppets" with posable metal skeletons.

Thats still technically making them from scratch, it's just a different process.

I think it's more likely they were just made from sketches (front and side projections) traced in a 3D proggy.

... sorry, I couldn't resist. No the skins I don't think were made from real models, considering how the skinmesh was laid out I'd highly doubt it actually... you can get a lot of detail in without such things.

W0\/\/ t3h |30|3z0R!!11 Its not the detail level so much as this feeling the texture is a 3d object and i feel like there are tool marks on the lines, as if they were sculpted. Then again, if I'm really attentive for signs of human activity I think I hear water call my name......
