The Late Rush

Ok, I'm sure a lot of you have figured this out already, but marines these days usually expect that early rush. Infact its not uncommon to see 8 skulks dead and maybe 1 or 2 marines go down in that early rush because they're prepared for it. But usually around 3 minutes into the game, you can get a really effective spawn rush, quite often finishing the game (not really as fun) but if you don't finsih them u can set them back by chewing out res towers and other buildings and buying time for the gorges. This is helped by the fact that a lot of rush tactic commanders don't bother building any turrets at their spawn because they cost too much early on. Once you clear out the marines that are loading up on ammo u just have to start chompin the ips and get any marines that pop out of them. keep an eye for the commander, and any reinforcements comming back too though

I usually see the early rush... it's kinda hard to keep people out of it. However, they're aimin for the wrong thing... yeah, killing marines is l33t and all, but most expect it these days.

What do i do? You got most of the skulks keepin the marines busy, bouncing all over the place... while me and another couple of guys chew down their res node. THAT will get their attention...

On maps where the marine spawn has two entrances (even just two doors, like Eclypse), have teams of skulks wait outside each entrance. Once the marines finally move outside their base, the nearest team attacks them and keeps them busy (death doesn't matter too much), and the rest sneak in the back door and eat expensive structures. Chances are there will be 1 or 2 marines still in base, but they won't be able to stop you from costing them res if you time it right. Losing 30 res in the start of the game will delay the marines as much as killing a gorge will for the Kharaa, and we all know how much that sucks.
