<div class="IPBDescription">because it went largely unappreciated</div> Well, in self-commemoration of my 2nd blue thingy for making my 200th post, I've decided to do something more than congratulate myself with a spam post. I've decided to dig up some history; more specifically, my 1st post ever at <a href='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/index.php?act=ST&f=5&t=12690&hl=' target='_blank'>http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/in...f=5&t=12690&hl=</a> .
Imagine, if you will, NS and its community not too long ago--less than a month after official public release, more specifically November 20th. The hot topics back then were different than today--anyone who has, like me, been reading the forums since the "hype week" leading to the release knows what I mean.
Also on night of the 20th of November I joined these forums to post my first post ever. It was a large post that I now regret having put into the "Suggestions & Ideas" forums, where except for Terr, Typhon, and ThatOneDude, it went largely unappreciated because it really didn't "suggest" anything specific. I had camouflaged [sp?] it too much in TSA-lingo, and it ended up being too much more like fan fiction. Hopefully, fan fiction of enough quality to present it forth here, despite the fact that my previous experience in NS fan fiction went no further than reading all of Humbaba's tales from the frontline.
Thus I present you all with my first post, titled "TSA R&D update 01 (huge)". The below is an excerpt, the introduction; in order to comply with the Fan-Fiction Forum FAQ regulations, I have not copied/pasted all of the post.

For immediate release to Trans-System Authority Scientific Personnel:
Like many of the militaries in the human race?s history, the TSA takes advantage of cutting edge technology to maintain as comfortable an advantage as possible over any opposition. Part of this process is both theoretical and applied research into new equipment to be used in the field.
In extremely simple terms, this is a two-part process. Lower-ranking personnel, including most scientists, soldiers, and commanders, document ongoing in-the-field experience and make equipment requisition applications in a forum publicly available to all TSA personnel. Higher-ranking scientists and research experts, led by such well-renowned people as Dr. Cleveland, PhD., take this information and place it on a list; new pieces of equipment (or changes to existing standard equipment) are researched in order of priority before declaring them safe for general use in the field.
The following are entries in research journals from several lower-ranking scientists who intend to submit their works for review.

Feel free to comment to this thread about your thoughts on my ancient one. The S&I forumgoers probably wouldn't want such an ancient post to be resurrected to their front page. I'd like to thank you for reading, and thank the community as a whole -- from Terr, the first person to reply to me (if my memory is correct, back then Terr had little over 300 posts!) to the random newbies I like to welcome to the forums when I visit the New Player Forum from time to time.
