    3, at least as long as "status" in the console still fulfills its current purpose. If the scores are changed to one of the resource-based systems I like, then my vote changes.

    Tell me something ... isn't the fact that you can't start polls by yourself on these boards a <i>tiny</i> hint?

    I seem to be pretty high-scoring alien, but I wish I didn't know my score. It makes me think twice before running into a group of marines, whereas I know I shouldn't. For now I think it would be good if both teams had no scores, but if some way to re-work the system in a Tribes 2-esqe fashion could be crafted I believe that would superior. That is, calculate a value for everything useful. Make healing people and structures worth something, make kills worth something, make building as marines worth something, give turret kills to the comm(poor guy, never sees any action anyway, might as well make him feel as though he has worth in terms of a score), make building hives worth something, make killing hives worth something, make killing the comm worth something(shortly after taking out his chair), make xenocide not a suicide, make taking out resource nodes worth something, etc, etc, etc. Those are just some suggestions, and there may be a lot of problems with those I listed, but I am just trying to think of similarities to tribes right now. This process would take a lot of fine tuning, just as it did with Tribes 2, but I think their current system is very good. It should at least be attempted.

    i respect everyone in this forum except those who think they should show everyones score....
    <!--QuoteEnd--></td></tr></table><span class='postcolor'><!--QuoteEEnd-->

    That's just a ridiculous statement.

    <!--QuoteBegin--></span><table border='0' align='center' width='95%' cellpadding='3' cellspacing='1'><tr><td><b>QUOTE</b> </td></tr><tr><td id='QUOTE'><!--QuoteEBegin-->
    i think marines is working now because there IS NO SCORE... you give a person a score on marines and ur encouraging rambos.. it is simple pyschology.... not the fact that ppl are retards... the whole human race is like that.. u want to look good.. especially if u play on a server that u constantly play on.... not eveyrone will judge u by ur "for the team" effort... but more for personal.... thats why aliens are afriad... becuase they will look bad... and ppl wont respect a) them as a person b) their clan....
    <!--QuoteEnd--></td></tr></table><span class='postcolor'><!--QuoteEEnd-->

    Then explain why the alien team, who have a scoreboard, show no less organisation, and have no more clueless retards than the marine team, who do not have a scoreboard. Tell me how, despite scores being shown, you always manage to get at least 1 gorge in every game (many times i wish there were a few more people willing to go after frags instead of all going gorge...) And these gorges inevitably end up at the bottom of the frag table. Tell me why you still see skulks running around firing parasite instead of leaping into the marine base to chomp whatever they can. And why no matter what server i join, i can always count on someone to tell me if they run past a phase gate at processing, instead of keeping quiet and farming it for their own frags.

    Even if you believe pub players really do ignore the aims of the game completely, which from what i've experienced in NS isnt the case, how can you possibly argue against scoreboards in tournement mode? No clan player will ever compromise the performance of his team for the sake of a scoreboard statistic, and i know no pub server that runs in tournement mode.

    The suggestion of not organising the scoreboard in order of frag score is also fine.

    Perhaps it's because they're trying not to get killed.

    I'd agree, but don't give the comm turret scores.

    That would encourage score hungry comms to plant more turrets, which would lose more games for 'rines, which would be <b>BAD.</b>

    I was playing with the thought of 5, remove alien deaths, keep their score count, but! Put in death count for marines <== best idea if score is not going to get altogether removed, because! It will lessen the chance of someone going rambo marine, being afraid to die as they might be, since "ohnoes m3 1337 sc0r3!" or something.

    Revamp the current scoreboard to resemble that of a rts. if you havent played any, rts's (well, at least in blizzard ones) shows the score in three different catergories: Unit, Structure, and Resources. This seems to fit well with ns. scoreboard should show the team's total kills, deaths, structures constructed and razed, and resources earned and spent.

    Marines have a comm, they should listen to him, aliens are hunters, they can do what they want.
    Marines can't survive without the comm, aliens can.
    Marines are doing what their comm said them to do, aliens do what they want.

    Nice.

    Probably impossible to fit on the tab menu, but nice ;)

    However, i forsee a problem with allowing teams to see the structures produced by the other side, in the middle of a match...

    I still really like the Worms-type award idea.

    A summary at the end of game before going to RR, showing total kills for both teams, buildings built/destroyed and special awards would be very nice. During the game nothing would be shown.

    an extra "Structure Constructed" point can mean anything from a turret/oc to a cc/hive.

    ya, i dont see how they can manage the chart on the scoreboard :/ but would be best imho.
