how do you determine your max?
Well currently i am in a situation where there are basicly 2 points in a room where the r_speeds go above 550 (its a hive) but on the average while running around in there its more like 400. so now i am wondering if you pros out there go from the "highest point" to determine your detaillevel or from the "room average"? i know this may be not an NS specific question but here are some of the finest mappers around i know and you are such a great help all the time... well would be appreciated to get some advice from the people who know their stuff

it depends. is it a major combat zone? will folks be looking in that direction much? will skulks/lerks hide there?

i tend the think of the WORST that it could be, that way i avoid problems.
