The only recurring dream I ever had only recurred once, and it was when I was real little.
I'm walking from a long hallway into a large, open, white room with my mother by my side. We are in a large croud, and everyone is walking down a wide red carpet to a very large elevator, which is also red, and is decorated by red curtains. As we walk closer to the elevator, we pass by a single person standing still, she is young, with dark hair, and all she does is stand to teh side of teh carpet, asking everyone if they are "Going Somewhere?".
As we reach the elavator, and it's doors open, a large bulbous green nose comes out of the elvator, very high above my head. The door begins to close again, and everyone around my mother and I scream and begin to run the way they came. My mother and I, however, do not run. All the happens is I stare upward, gawking at this giant nose, and as it being smooshed by the elevator doors, my mother laughs and says "look at your nose!" The doors then begin to open again, and we begin to run. When we get to the door leading to the hallway from where we came in, we can't get through. We both try to go through at the same time, and we get stuck. The dream ends with both of us looking over our shoulders and screaming.
    Freud, anyone?

Dreaming about your teeth falling out is actually quite a very common theme for dreams (much like falling).

QUOTE

Question

I keep having a reoccurring nightmare. In this nightmare, my mouth is closed shut but my tongue pushes my teeth out. It holds some meaning for me that I can't express. I am really curious what implications this dream has on me. I dream about the same thing at least twice a week. I would really appreciate some insight.

    Answer
The dreamer him/herself is the final authority on the meaning of a particular dream, though sometimes it is interesting and educational to hear what the dream would mean if it were someone else's.

    If this were my dream....
In my dream my mouth is closed. My mouth is a vital part of the way I interact with the world. I not only use it to eat and talk and breathe and kiss, but as a child it was the first way I explored the world and the first way I had of controlling what went in and became part of me, and what went out and thus became part of others.

My tongue pushes my teeth out. My tongue can work with my mouth, but not always. My tongue helps me express myself, helps me control what I assimilate and can push things out when I don't want them anymore. I can use my tongue to explore too, but usually it explores what is in my mouth. My teeth are usually something powerful to me, though they can be vulnerable when I don't take care of them. They help me grab and chew and bite into life. In this dream my tongue has found some teeth that it wants to push out, but my mouth doesn't want to lose them.

This reminds me much of what happened when I was losing my baby teeth, with some variations. In other words, in my dream the mouth isn't ready to lose what has made it stronger and more powerful. The mouth isn't aware that some stronger teeth are on their way. The tongue doesn't know either, but does know the direction the old teeth have to go.

I wonder to myself how this fits in my life right now as an adult. Have I acquired some ways of grabbing hold of life that are now perhaps, like baby teeth, ready to go to make way for bigger teeth?

Source

The FBI investigator, Dale Cooper, has a couple of dreams where he is in a cabin with red curtains and a red carpet. A midget talks to him backwards, and someother weird things. The main signifcance of the red curtains was that Laura Palma was raped/tortured in a cabin with red curtains.
It is one of the easiest to describe moments of complete wierdness in twin peaks, and generally caused the first "No, really, what the hell is going on?" moments. As such, it has been parodied much, including by the simpsons.

That does sound weird. The only thing I know about twin peaks is what I saw on the episode of SNL when they had the star on teh show, and they did a parody sketch, and what I saw on monsterpeice theater.

An answere to the first post may be that you are worried/stressed about somthing but are not entirely sure what.

It's actually quite common for people who are worried about somthing to dream about their teeth falling out.

I've done it at times and I know of at least 2 of my mates who have the same dream.

This may not be the answere it's jus a suggestion.

Or maby you **** off the tooth fairy and shes giving you bad dreams as payback??

Wehn I was a wee lad I had this dream where my family lived in this huge old-style victorian house. My room was upstairs in one of the "towers", so to speak. I remember everyone was outside for a teaparty and there were guests over. I was the only one in the house. I would keeps getting this terrible feeling that I was not alone and that something awful was in the room with me but was invisible. In my dream I would cry from the feeling this would give me and run in horror to my mother outside. She would ask me what were the matter in a monotone voice. I would explain that something evil is in the house and is out to get us and do bad things to us. She would dismiss it and tell me I was being funny and send me back into the house (for ice or sugar or bread). And this entity who was invisible would chase me around the house. Try as I might I could never wake up during this chase. It seemed as if it went on for an eternity(everytime I had the dream). I would run into my room and lock the door only to find I had locked myself in there with it. Then it would consume me and I would wake up. I had this dream about 20-30 times as a kid. Everytime I had it I would wake up soaked in sweat and would be weeping terribly.

That sounds like the evil thing out of the evil dead films. The main character gets chased around by an invisible evil.

btw you sig better be from a film coz if thats real your one disturbed chap.

yeh my sig pic is from event horizon......

anyways back to the dream.... this was waaaaaayy waaaaayy before before i ever saw/heard about/conceived any idea of evil dead. Im talking about when I was maybe about 7 years old. At this point the scariest movie i had ever seen was christine(the stupid car that kills people). that movie frighened me but this dream was in full color(or it seemed) and as real as life if not more real. Litterally if i could hold that dream experience to real life experince i wouldnt be able to tell the difference. It was so real.

I have loads of REALLY vivid dreams like you jus said. Don't often have nightmares unless im stressed or something.

Wasn't implying your memory of the film caused the dream I was jus thinking mayby the writer of the films had a similar dream and thats how he came up with the idea.

I get this wierd thing that happens when I'm half asleep/awake where I see people or objects in my room. I can't move and can't properly close my eyes so i suppose my dream is being projected in to real life in a way. But it really freaks the hell out of me sometimes. The people don't move they jus kinda stand or lie on the ground. It's really wierd. Do any of you have this??

But the strangest most vivid dream I had was walking out of my house at night then breaking in to a run. I then turned to look at my house behind me then the ground below me opens up and i fell backwards into it and as I fell my back was on fire. I actually felt heat on my back!!!

Does this mean I will go to hell when I die??

I think I experience this sort of thing... Like the othe day I was staring into the bonmdfire(on weekends me and my friends build a fire in his backyard and hang out). anyways everyone had went inside and i was just sitting out there by myself and another friend of mine was on his way back from dropping off his girlfriend. well i seel this figure walk past right behind the flames as i am sort of dazing out. I say out loud, "hey dude, whats up?" and when I hear no response i look up and noones there. I say a figure move.

Also when i visited my father in the summer time i would often wake up at night because i felt someone plop down on the bed next to me in the middle of the night( i had a wterbed so the whole thing would wave around). I thought tht maybe i was just me twitching in my sleep until i mentioned something to my step-sister (she lived there) and she said she would get that all the time(she had a box spring and mattress). This ever happen to anyone?

There is actually a mental disorder where your dreams are shown even after you have awaken, and you often have the feeling that something is pushing on your chest and you're unable to move. Weird stuff.

By the way, a few months ago i kept having a recurring dream. In the dream i would wake up out of bed and walk outside and the sky would be on fire. i would then fall backwards but i never stopped falling, it was like a void had opened or something. It freaked me out after i had it about the 5th time of seeing it again.

Dreams can often take seemingly physical manifest, this is how a lot of alien abduction stories start. When the brain goes into dream mode, and is suddenly woken up for some reason, the subconcious and concious mind have a little tussle, and the result could range from anywhere to vague feelings of extreme emotions, to full-on hallucinations. I have felt this more than once. It's creepy. The most vivid I can remember being just a while ago, I was under a lot of stress, and I was having trouble going to sleep. I gell asleep for what semed like a fraction of a second(and the clock next to my bed later proved like it had not been long. I remeber just feeling like my whole body was being turned off by an outside force, the pitch black room turned to an even darker shade, and my body didn't want to move when I told it to. It felt like someone had put I giant tuning fork inside my gut and was holding me down. It was really weird.

my dreams are crazy and insane, like me....

I am a care taker of a cemetary in my back yard, execpt its bigger. All the graves are kinda like crypts (like those stone houses) but there made of glass and you can see all the dead bodies people keep coming and seeing the dead people for some reason and I walk around looking into each crypt. Then theres open coffins around me and its soo gross and ugly there all grey and stuff then my dream gets hazy and I go back into my house and its all dark and stuff.

Then I had this other dream where I was in a mall and there was this girl there, i floated in front of her and then began walking through the mall. But the blood in my hand felt cut off and i pulled my hand away from hers saying that she was holding my hand too damn hard. Then i floated away from her to the ocean and then watched a sand castle build itself then little sand men in the sand castle battle it out and then melt away. Then out into the ocean again then I wake up...

heheh cant remember the rest of my dreams right now...

Ok, I have been in the half asleep, half awake stage when it seems like everything is normal, but you can't move and it feels like your paralyzed, and then you try to move and you can move a little bit, as if the paralysis is going away (which uselly ends up with me dreaming im on the floor), but during this I also realize that it is a dream and I can wake myself up from it, but it takes alot of will power and its really frustrating, this happens alot, especially when I take an afternoon nap or something like that.

Other recurring ones are where I am actually asleep, , but its like im not, and then I think I wake up, but im really still dreaming and it confuses the hell out of me to wake up like four or five times before I truly am awake, another one is where none of the lights turn on in the house, that one happens alot too, as if the power is always out, and when I was young I had the recurring dream of something under my bed, trying to grab me if I got off the bed, and another one from my youth was always trying to cross the road, but then some construction vehicles comes down the road and no matter how hard I try I can't run fast enough to cross the road before its near me, but it never hits me.

Also, I know this is off topic, but does anybody have a dream of a place that you have never ever been to, and eventually in real life you go to a place that is exactly or pretty darn close to the dream place, and then you get a funny feeling of Deja-vu? That has happened to me on several ocasions, and then I have dreams of things that my girlfriend will say or do at a certain place, and it happens when im awake. I must be psychic
    (or psycho).

Boy, I must have alot of repressed issues!

Holy **** DezModium, I can kinda relate to you and have my share of "weird" **** to tell but I'm so tired right now and its 4am. I thought I was crazy for a long time, Maybe I am, maybe we are. One thing is for sure, a paranormal investigator is one of my backup careers incase all else fails. My experiences effected me so much that I am a strong beleiver in the paranormal. But again I don't wanna type right now. Goodnight, Hope I don't have a bad dream.

Oh and Burr, I beleive we are all psychic, all humans. Animals as you cans see have the extra sence, We do not simply because technology rules over our scenses in modern world. I have dreams of places but hardly get Deja vu, they don't feel earthly, really starnge deserts and crap out in the middle of nowhere or nothingness. I get emotional just thinking about the size of the universe when people around me are like "chill out man". They just don't understand me.

bah, there will never be a movie as scary as teh one I create. All movies these days dissapoint me. There are two types of "scary" movie. there is the horror scary, as in blood, gore, "final destination" may I add is one of the most illed movies of all times. I got turned off by that gore seekers crap.

Then there is the "mental" scary movie. The ones yu just don;t understand or can have not one drop of blood throughout the movie but are still scary as heck. But frankly there are no "scary" mental movies. Nowadays if they don't have blood then their rated Pg-13 and, anyway. I want to write a book but hell I'm only 18 1/2 and am not good at writing.

I hate gore and my experiences have nothing to do with any blood involved. Whoever invented blood=scary is just stupid, sorry.

Sure people say "Blair Whitch" was fake, but, but, can you only imagine if you were out in the middle of nowhere all alone with branches snapping all around you and people callign your name at 2:00 am in the middle of the night in the middle of the woods. I don't think you understand the experience. People didn't understand me when I got scared after watching that movie, I know its fake, I just cannot imagine the terror if I were in their shoes. In reality, at any age you would suffer from a heart attack when someone started thrashing your tent in the middle of the boonies.

I once met a freind who had something thrash his tent in the middle of the woods on the backtrails of Lake arrowhead and when he stumbled into the roadside liquor store the next morning he had no voice for over 2 weeks because he blew his vocals in extreme terror, and also sufferd from a bloodclot in the forehead. Like so much tenstion of fear happened that he was literally shocked, he also suffered from muscle spasm for a few days afterward, your muscles become so tense that you cannot move properly.

I've had this dream once that I was playing hide and go seek with my sister. Nothing out of the ordinary just and regular day were we were bored and playing hid and go seek.

Then, a few days later we play hide and go seek and it is happening just like it was in the dream. And everywhere she would hide I would go right there and find her, just like the dream.

I've also had dreams were I was having conversations with people and then a few days later I would have the exact same conversation with them and I would say what they say before they say it. I've weirded myself out like tht a few times.

That's actually fairly common. Usually it feels like something (You are awake, but can't see anything, but you feel it) is on top of you, holding you down in your bed. Its also a lot more common in women than in men (perhaps something to do w/ a fear of being raped, as initially when this occurs to women that's their first thought). Don't worry though, you aren't crazy for it.

yeah, this has happened w/ me a lot too. Also, like your situation, its usually trivial things like a conversation, or a telephone ringing and it being a telemarketer. The thing w/ me though is usually I don't remember them (either forget them as soon as I wake up, or maybe the dream happens a week or even a few months in advance) until *AFTER* the event has happened. Sometimes though there have been times when I haven't forgotten the dream, and that's just creepy knowing what a person is gonna say next heh.
