I'm Having A Bit Of Trouble

<div class="IPBDescription">And it's driving me insane...</div> Hi all, before I go droning on about my troubles, let me put up my specs

Celeron 1700
Geforce 2 GTS DDR
Win XP (Proffesional)
Currently Running HL in 1024*768 OpenGL

The problem is the picture attached. I've defragmented my drive, repatched HL, restarted, everything short of a format or a complete reinstall of HL. It's definately not a Hard Drive error, and it cant be fualty memory since it appears in no other games. This problem appeared a few days ago and I cant play NS because of it. It tantalises me with about 30 seconds of game time or less before it decides that it cant read that memory.

Any help would be greatly appreciated in the matter, thanks in advance...

Have you tried changing the capatability mode?

run in 98 compatability mode and see how it goes

I'v tried that already, no effect, I might try reinstalling HL later on, but not now too busy, you know, that life of mine catches up to me <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo-->
