Recycling Marine Spawn

asfasf Join Date: 2003-01-28 Member: 12888Members
<div class="IPBDescription">Is it wrong?</div> Yesterday I decided to do what I have thought about doing for a long time. Recycling the marine spawn if the marines are being goof offs. Well yesterday I had quite a few of those instances. Multiple times I would tell a group, give them waypoints, yell at them, etc.. to go to multiple areas of the map. When they continued to do the opposite of what I said and try and rush marine spawn by themselves or camp in a small area of the map I would proceed to recycle everything. Now, I understand how I can be considered a llama for doing this, but I don't play this game to be frustrated to hell and play a **** game that I can see the outcome of in the first 5 minutes. I play this game to have an exciting game from beginning to end.

So my question is, Does anyone agree with recycling to end **** games?

Maybe I was being an **** to those select few who wanted to goof off, maybe I was being considerate to those who wanted a fun game or maybe I was being an **** to everyone (most of which probably didn't understand why I was doing it so they got mad). Let me hear your thoughts.

    Its your desicion when your the COMM. I only recycle the Inf Ports, and only when aliens have 3 hives and we have only 2 RTs and nothing to show for it. However, if you are "frustrated" dont take it out on the rest of the team, just Log Out of the CC and let one of the rambos try. You can always hit retry and join aliens.

    Secondly, being overly vulgar in your post wont get you good replies

    When things aren't going well and the marines are goofing off (it's usually because the first comm wasn't very agressive and didn't inspire his troops) I recycle everything BUT one IP and the armory and hand out shotties. At least we can all have some fun on the way down.

    Stop being selfish.

    If aliens are winning after hard work, they deserve to win.

    And if you cannot have fun playing as losing marines, then you are better off not playing the game at all. Are you playing ns to win? And if you reply by saying "losing = no fun", you obviously have never had the satisfaction of taking down an onos with a pistol clip / knife.

    Recycling spawns just sets the example to other newer players, do not make it the norm.

    Sorry but when marines give up i find it totally lame, especially when the alien team have worked hard and got organised, to go onos and have some fun.

    Recycle everthing but IPs and armory, and quick tech to JP+HMG+MT, and hide for a long time before dying. Maybe even strategically place a CC in a hidden spot, and drop yourself health when you need it... If you cant find me, you dont deserve to call me a llama.

    If you don't like the game, leave. Don't ruin it for other people who may be ENJOYING the game -- even if they're just goofing around.

    well there is nothing worse than beaconing in an entire dead marine team that you need to rush your phase gate to keep a 2nd hive secure and your telling them what needs doing, then 6 of em stand at the armoury for 3mins filling up on ammo, then they fill the pistol, (the phase is gone at this stage) then they run out of main base and get killed without getting a shot off.......

    In such an instance I may well be tempted to recycle the armoury and tell them they don't need more ammo than they have in their guns till they die and spawn again (see now your reloading your clip) <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo-->

    Although I'm usually nice about it and just get rid of the one in base and give em an armoury in another base location or wherever I need them at the time (you had want to be a very very silly team for me to even go this far but there's always 2 marines getting enough ammo for the entire team, only to lose it all in an instant and if they can't listen to good advice, then they're gonna learn the hard way) <!--emo&:0--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/wow.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wow.gif'><!--endemo-->

    I try to give the goodies to the troops that have made my job and the teams job easier too, although I won't leave some newbie/fool without a kit if it can be afforded cus they usually just vote you out and jump in to take whatever keeps them happy/completely screw the game for you by recycling your base for you after you put in a lot of effort.....

    REcycle IP's only if you're moving the base to another location (perhaps in emergency)

    No, why is it your decision when the game is over??? If you aren't happy with the way the game is going, leave the server.. I do this all the time, if other players are screwing around, then I'll hit another server...

    I also remember which servers had good games and which were lame repeatedly.. Guess which ones I frequent (and are often tough to get on because of the caliber of games)??

    anybody thought about adding the ability to temporarily turn off the ammo refill powers of the armory?

    Then you would have a bunch of guys standing around listening to the beep you get in 1.03 when the armoury was being updated <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->

    You can't make people understand this.... Believe me, in TFC, I used to mention to players every time I respawned and saw people picking up all the backpacks (when one gives you much more ammo then you could hope to spend before you die) and then picking up the pack that gave you ammo and grenades...

    They(TFC players) never listened, these yahoo's don't listen, they never will.

    The answers I'm seeing indicate that your question WAS read. However, just to make sure you're clear on MY stance:

    <!--QuoteBegin--></span><table border='0' align='center' width='95%' cellpadding='3' cellspacing='1'><tr><td><b>QUOTE</b> </td></tr><tr><td id='QUOTE'><!--QuoteEBegin--> Yesterday I decided to do what I have thought about doing for a long time. You are have been a llama for a long time. You have no authority to decide what is acceptable behavior unless it's your server.

    <!--QuoteBegin--></span><table border='0' align='center' width='95%' cellpadding='3' cellspacing='1'><tr><td><b>QUOTE</b> </td></tr><tr><td id='QUOTE'><!--QuoteEBegin-->Well yesterday I had quite a few of those instances. When they continued to do the opposite of what I said and try and rush marine spawn by themselves or camp in a small area of the map I would proceed to recycle everything. <!--QuoteEnd--></td></tr></table><span class='postcolor'><!--QuoteEEnd-->
    You were a llama multiple times yesterday. If you don't like the team you are commanding, either LEAVE THE SERVER or STOP BEING COMMANDER. You have no right to ruin the game for everyone.

    <!--QuoteBegin--></span><table border='0' align='center' width='95%' cellpadding='3' cellspacing='1'><tr><td><b>QUOTE</b> </td></tr><tr><td id='QUOTE'><!--QuoteEBegin-->Now, I understand how I can be considered a llama for doing this, but I don't play this game to be frustrated to hell and play a **** game that I can see the outcome of in the first 5 minutes.<!--QuoteEnd--></td></tr></table><span class='postcolor'><!--QuoteEEnd-->
    And now you are not only a llama, but you are also a psychic? Not only that, but apparently if your psychic powers (or are you calling Miss Chloe?) tell that you'll lose (within the first 5 minutes of the game) then apparently the game is absolutely no fun for anyone because the ONLY goal in computer games is to win. Having fun has nothing to do with anything. Ever. At all.

    <!--QuoteBegin--></span><table border='0' align='center' width='95%' cellpadding='3' cellspacing='1'><tr><td><b>QUOTE</b> </td></tr><tr><td id='QUOTE'><!--QuoteEBegin-->I play this game to have an exciting game from beginning to end.<!--QuoteEnd--></td></tr></table><span class='postcolor'><!--QuoteEEnd-->
    And by gum, if it isn't exciting enough for you, why not just end the game for all the other players. I mean, when you are playing single player you can just reload your quicksave when you aren't having fun so why not just restart the game when you're in multiplayer. All those other people connected are only there to provide for YOUR entertainment. And connecting to another server would be so INCREDIBLY difficult.

    <!--QuoteBegin--></span><table border='0' align='center' width='95%' cellpadding='3' cellspacing='1'><tr><td><b>QUOTE</b> </td></tr><tr><td id='QUOTE'><!--QuoteEBegin-->So my question is, Does anyone agree with recycling to end **** games?<!--QuoteEnd--></td></tr></table><span class='postcolor'><!--QuoteEEnd-->
    No. I agree with leaving the game if you aren't having fun.

    <!--QuoteBegin--></span><table border='0' align='center' width='95%' cellpadding='3' cellspacing='1'><tr><td><b>QUOTE</b> </td></tr><tr><td id='QUOTE'><!--QuoteEBegin-->Maybe I was being an **** to those select few who wanted to goof off, maybe I was being considerate to those who wanted a fun game or maybe I was being an **** to everyone (most of which probably didn't understand why I was doing it so they got mad).<!--QuoteEnd--></td></tr></table><span class='postcolor'><!--QuoteEEnd-->
    Yup, you pretty much were.

    <!--QuoteBegin--></span><table border='0' align='center' width='95%' cellpadding='3' cellspacing='1'><tr><td><b>QUOTE</b> </td></tr><tr><td id='QUOTE'><!--QuoteEBegin--> Let me hear your thoughts.<!--QuoteEnd--></td></tr></table><span class='postcolor'><!--QuoteEEnd-->

    in a game i played yesterday i was marine and the comm suddenly started to recycle everything becaus we where loosing.
    ok, we wasn't going to win, but anyway.... it's the same thing with the loosers that quit the game becaus you are loosing.

    if your in a game play it till the end ffs... the only times i'm quiting is if i'm joining a game where it's almost ended and i haven't been in there from the beginning or from where it started to go to hell....
    i also quit if there is some toall **** holes in the server that i don't like... or if there is some idiot with really light voice.. like a 10 year old sucker that keeps talking all the time.. god i hate thoose suckers... grrrr <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->

    Im not a big fan of recylcing if they **** me off. If they refuse to listen or do something stupid and dont listen to me, or die too much and cant do crap, I ususally Log out and do it myself and let someone else comm. People on the servers I play know Im a good comm, and often ask me to comm, if I log out ususally it means we are screwe d. <!--emo&???--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/confused.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='confused.gif'><!--endemo-->

    If you not having fun logg out, leave server, read a book, get alife do what ever the hell you want as long as it doesnt mess with other players rights to enjoy there game. I would recomend any of you who think recyling like that is accptible to stay off the GDR and DV server cuase i will ban you

    its stupid to do such a thing, it isnt really the comms right to ruin the game for an entire marine game because he feels that the game isnt going the way he wants. on additional note i hate those people that midgame demand to be comm and then sell the entire base just to make the marines lose regardless of how they were doing.
