<div class="IPBDescription">help...</div> Can someone tell me how to fix my commanders background. Everything that is not "inside" the map tiles as if I was walking thru a wall. I can't seem to find anything that talks about it.
info_mapinfo you get this gfx bug if your command view has large Z-distances to watch down AND if you put in not soo good numbers in info_mapinfo values (depending on map height) .
hmmm.. I thought my numbers were fine. Here are two screenshots showing the problem. <a href='http://www.freewebsitehosting.net/websites/Heist/ns_trane20.JPG' target='_blank'>http://www.freewebsitehosting.net/websites.../ns_trane20.JPG</a> <a href='http://www.freewebsitehosting.net/websites/Heist/ns_trane21.JPG' target='_blank'>http://www.freewebsitehosting.net/websites.../ns_trane21.JPG</a>
For some reason my linking and img buttons aren't working. Just cut and paste.
<edit> Nevermind. They work anyway <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->
you dont see a black backgound in comm view. you see a hall of mirrors instead...
check the info_mapinfo variable: <span style='font-size:13pt;line-height:100%'>min map Z (<b>black background</b>) </span> (aka minviewheight) on this height a big black wall would be visible for the commander. he can build below, just cant see thru (usefull to block the view to the void <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo--> ) Ihis number should be below the lowest level of our map (but not too low because of max-viewdistance)
your attatched immages do not work because they are bigger than 128 k or whatever is the limit. *be nice to him*
1. "Min map Z ( black background)" should be set to a lower number than "View Height (for commander)" and bellow the lowest piece of floor in your map.
2. Ensure that the "No Background" flag is not set.
Bascialy there is a huge black sprite that prevents you seeing that HOM (Hall Of Mirrors) in NS. The first setting sets the height at which the sprite is placed, the second decides wherter to show the sprite at all.
Thankyou for your help and thats not the reason my pics wouldn't work. The actual button that is supposed to automatically write the "code" does nothing when I push http: or IMG.
