Looking For A Model I Saw

In a screenshot in a different area of the forums (general discussion I think) I saw a bald marine model. I looked through all 11 pages in this forum and couldn't find a link to it, nor could I find it on any of the sites that I found while looking. Anyone seen it before?

    That's my unreleased hackjob. All I did was remove the helmet and smooth out the head a little to get rid of the hair. I was thinking about giving it a proper release when I finish skinning the new jetpack but a few people have asked me about it in IRC too, so here he is with a default jp:

    (no credits in the zip because I can't be bothered uploading another at the moment, but credit should go to (i) whoever it was who converted the AvP2 marine, (ii) Wolf Kahler (I think), for the "full" Hudson version, and (iii) whoever it was reskinned the AvP2 marine as a SST model)

    <b>edit</b>: I forgot to add - he uses the smartgun anims. I don't have enough room at the moment to host a version with default anims too, I'm afraid.

    It looks different because it has two skins - shaved and not. Also, the JP chap is wearing a helmet.

    It's my "full" Hudson-style colonial marine model with the Starship Troopers skin circulated for a while, but with the smartgunner's eyepiece and helmet removed.

    I had the "hairy " version too, ( too noob to check the other skin..) so I had my first go at reskinning it to look, well, more skinheadish..

    Let me put it this way, I now have a new-found respect for skinners..

    Anyway, finally got it done to my liking, and I have to say it was an interesting learning process, I'd encourage everyone to have a bash at it.

    Your results WILL suck badly at first, but at least you'll have a better understanding of how it's all done.

    Now all I need is to stick some "John Lennon" specs on him, and that IS me..

    I really do enjoy this model...do you think you'd have time to replace the smartgun anim with the default HMG? I remember a long time ago reading a tutorial about replacing anims etc. and it looked complicated but not exceedingly difficult. Thanks if you can.

    I could do that very easily - the trouble is that I don't currently have space to host two versions.

    I'm sure someone could be generous enough to host, I would if I had a decent one. A few days ago I stumbled across an NS site called Blaskafiles, a custom content site. Who knows...

    That would require coding, Power-Line. Notice only the paratroopers in DoD have removeable helmets. It's a culmination of years of little bits of extra coding their coder[s] have thrown together, depending how inspiration struck here and there.

    Then it would always fall exactly the same way. You'd have to remodel the head so the helmet's seperate anyway. Then add a bone to the skeleton, then add that bone it to every animation and animate it falling off, differently for each death anim.

    Well, a helmet falling off in NS is really pointless. I mean, in other games, where you get to see your headshot blow the guys helmet off is just amazing, but since when do you bite ppl in the head <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo--> Maybe we should make their legs fall off, or their kneecaps break off <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo-->.
