just google 'half life video record' or something, i'm sure you'll find it.

well, you could just record a demo with halflife, and i kno there is some way you can then edit those into .avi's

You can use recorddemo to record a half life demo and later convert into avi. Or use record to record directly to avi, although the file size will be huge. I believe those are the correct commands.
