WHAT KIND OF COMM ARE YOU??
Are you a ...
Speed commander? Where its all about taking all the hives and phase gate rushes.
The Comm with an iron fist? The kind of comm who pushes his marines around, yells right into the mic, slams his fingers on the keyboard and aggresively tell them to build this or go there.
Standard Comm? The commander who does everything by the book. Cap resource nozzles then hives. Research stuff with only ONE arms lab. TF and turrets at base. And neatly handing out stuff by packages(ha+hmg+welder)(jp+hmg+welder)etc etc...
kamikaze commander? That crazy dude who runs his marines into the ground by dropping tons of Command chairs @ base BWHAHAHA and recycling all his res towers. only to be kicked by his team of marines.
Noob commander? that lovable noobie who somehow falls into the command chair and gets locked in and starts desperatly looking for the eject button that will pop him back out while at the same time TRY to command his group of hardfought marines.
Or are you the marine who just stands back and watches what everyones doing and just go along with it all. Hoping in the end everything ends out turning nicely and that he gets some HA and hmgs

Yeah, that wouldn't surprise me at all, especially after you made the entire alien team listen to your damn techno music for the entire game.
I'd rather not comm because the interface drives me nuts (sorry guys - I realize it's hard to turn an FPS into an RTS).
When I do comm, I'm the slow methodical comm who expects that game to take about and hour to win. I do a decent job, but I'm no wonder comm.
Player2: Flayra
Player1: OMG Flayra, why'd u build sensory?
Flayra: cuz it's my game. <!--QuoteEnd--></td></tr></table><span class='postcolor'><!--QuoteEEnd-->
Haha thats kinda funny cept its more like:
Player1: alright who the **** built sensory
Player2: SENSORY WTF
Player3: I AM GONNA freaking BAN WHOEVER DID THAT
*random yells on mike*
Player3: Marines f4, fudo built sensory, again
I think its kinda sad the only way aliens can apparently win is if they do the DAS combo.
Crazy because I try some new stuff wich is good, but dies look insane sometimes...
ok your in a hive... 3 turrets and a phasegate up. you want more turrets? no. whoops here u get another TF because NONE the hell would take a look at this hive for a long time now!!!
ok youre in siege range of a second hive wich LOTS of ppl and LOTS of aliens there. too bad I have no ressources because of lousy res defence that time....
of course everyone yells for a siege. pffft. here is what you get. an armory right at the front line, enjoy. (with voogru armoury-health this makes sense). I dropped mines to kill tons of rushing smaller aliens, later welders to keep each other healty, a phasegate for the ones that died and then at last (!!) the turret factory.
But i bet a second armoury would be more fun.
of course everyone yelled for HMG and HA, I had HMG researched (little late because of ressource lack) HA even later, but i dropped a mixture of everything, most times shootgun and GL. HMG is just boring.
I get the job done right though, so they respect me when its over.
you want health, you get health, IF YOU USE YOUR MENU....
you want ammo, you got it! (unless your sitting next to teh armory)
you want a res, hold on a second, here ya go!
but i play favorites more than most comms.... you took the hive all alone? you get the first of everything.... you sat at base and tried to knife the CC for the first ten minutes, you get one ammo.... that's YOUR upgrade....
if you scream at me to give you health, and insist that i know where "here" is.... you get no health....
if you scream for anything and insist that i've watching nobody but you, and i know where your at, your wrong, and won't get it.
if you tell me where you are, what you want, and ask nicely, you get it, close to 100% of the time....
i guess that makes me a hard nice comm? <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo-->
Me -"Marines go to WP's"
Beavis - "Comm - I wanna Shotgun & HA"
Me -"Marines go to WP's"
Butthead -"Comm - I wanna Shotgun & HA"
Me -"See those guys over there? The ones munching Fades with their HMGs & HAs?"
Beavis & Butthead - "Yeah"
Me - "<b>GO TO YA FRIKKIN WAYPOINT & YOU MIGHT JUST JOIN THEM!</b>"
Normally I play aliens, so when I do go marines, and somehow end up in the chair, then I'm pretty much lost. I know the interface, and I know the maps, but I don't yet know the winning tactics for each map. So, I listen for one or two decent players that seem to know what they're talking about, and I give them what they ask for. Strangely enough, this actually works a fair percentage of times.

You mean B1tch Comm? rofl
*sorry for going around the filter here admins, but that's the only way for it to sound funny, it's a joke*
an excellent comm who uses voice comms and can generally command a group of marines to victory. however, the group of marines this comm is commanding are tards. after attempting to persuade the team to follow orders through calm and collective reasoning (and failing), begins to get all pissy over the voice comms. one or two marines say "it's just a game". the comm retorts and tells them running off and getting nothing accomplished will not be fun when the 2nd hive goes up, game or not. at which point, these one or two marines begin to swear and cuss at the comm (with no true return arguement). they see the server say the word "bye", and soon after, "Kicked by console." all the other marines now begin to whine about how much the comm sucks while continuing to run around the map aimlessly. the comm says "fine" and hops out of the chair, which remains unoccupied unto the marine's death.
yeah, that's me. <!--emo&:(--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/sad.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad.gif'><!--endemo-->
And then this other time on ns_hera we all just made mass turrets. Needless to say we lost.
And after a while i get either frustrated ( if the marines dont follow orders) or bored ( because the marines follow orders and we're winning)
I stopped using TF's in the Marine Spawn really early and used the PG in Hive tactic. Lately that hasn't been seeming to work very well so now I am the slow but steady expansion followed by all out attacks with HMG's Comm <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->
A bad Comm....
I can't get the hang of the interface, I'm horrible at C&C.. So I'll only ever take the chair if I have no choice...
That's an acronym, not a cuss!
I hate turrets. HATE TURRETS. I don't build them much; I find mines much more useful. That strategy might work better on some servers than others; but on the server I regularly play on has both coordinated alien teams (5 skulk rushes o my) and good mine placers. I find a good landmine-field works much better against a skulk rush, and is cheaper than turrets to boot. I only build turrets when absolutely necessary, or when strategically beneficial. For example: in generator room on NS_nothing, building a few sieges and some turrets to guard them will cover 5 of the map's resources. Or, in NS_caged, in said vestibule and stability areas, I usually build sieges when the money is made available to prevent hives.
I'll build phase gates in hives when it is intelligent to do so. I almost never build a phase in two hives, because the two hive lock-down is practically impossible now (skulks will usually take down 1, and if are really coordinated, both phase gates). Therefore I'll usually take 1 hive, and only 1 hive, in order to give my marines less places to worry about. Then I go on my resource crusade. Once I have enough resources, I pour them into getting upgrades. I usually get advanced weapons, motion tracking, and jetpacks, along with some weapons upgrades, well before the aliens get two hives (or just as the hive becomes active). Just when the aliens are weakest defensively (2nd hive is JUST about to come up, gorge is focusing his res on building a defensive perimeter, original hvie is widely ignored by skulks) I order an offensive. If I take the hive, marines win. If they manage to hold it, then occasionally we win (much depends on the marines' ability to shoot and kill a fade) and sometimes we don't.
I win most of my games as commander. Yay.
