Sudden Validation Problems

<div class="IPBDescription">ARGH</div> So I played a game earlier today, then logged off. Later I try and get on another server (using the All Seeing Eye) and it says it couldn't obtain won.net authentication. Then it says your Natural Selection exectuble is out of date and tries to update it. I am using the Counter Strike retail version, and it isn't up to date, but it doesn't find any new upgrades and I can't play. Someone please help, thank you.

I just started to get that too. I use HL but games like DoD, CS and stuff work fine. I tried reinstalling NS and the HL update again but it didn't work.

Like recently as in today a couple of minutes ago, or has it been going on for a while? I've gotten this problem before and usually a restart will fix it, but once I had to download the weird won.net registration thing to get it working.

I read somewhere on these forums that Sierra started banning old cd-keys a while ago, which led to problems similair to this. If this is true, then its total BS, and I am curious about whether or not its legal to just ban people from playing a game they purchased just because its old and a lot of people have the keygens.

What version HL are you guys using?

I have CS retail version 1.0.0.5 or whatever, the numbers are getting to confusing. My old Half-Life CD got real scratched so I bought CS Retail just for NS and deleted most of the CS files.

Same thing here both DoD and NS have been giving me that message. I'm using HL 1.1 so its not that.

Ok it has nothing to do with us it's WoN.
Apparently there server went down or something to that affect.
It's not only NS (which is what I can't play for some reason)

won.net seems to be working again, at least for me. Thank god thats over <!--emo&:0--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/wow.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wow.gif'><!--endemo-->
