Beware =xm= Xt3m3 W4r Server

Just a heads up for everyone, I was just playing on a server named =XM= xt3m3 W4r (65.221.103.230:27025), and after popping open the console during play and seeing "sv_cheats set to 1" followed by it being set back to 0 a few times, I said "wtf is up with sv_cheats getting set to 1?". One of the other players on the server, "|XM| HoBoPoLiCe v2.0" said "its not". I responded "it is in my console", and a couple minutes later I was permabanned.

I wasn't doing anything wrong at the time... the round had just started and I was skulk rushing.

Additionally, another player expressed surprise when our hive was built so fast, especially with two gorges... I wasn't paying close attention, but I imagine some admins were using cheat codes.

So if you see weird stuff happening on "=XM= xt3m3 W4r", you might just want to keep your mouth shut, or go play on a server without cheating admins. :/

    voogru's server also has cheating admins...the aliens had the marines pinned down in a hive and were trying to destroy them, and after about 5 minutes, with one resource tower suddenly every single marine had heavy armor and a nade launcher, after much comotion, they admin said "thats what you get for taking so long to destroy us and playing with us!"

    None of our admins "Cheat" that is an outright lie.

    Our server wouldnt be full 90% of the time if all the admins "cheated" If you dont like my mods you dont have to play there, but that doesnt give you any rights to go around flaming my servers and/or admins.

    Thanks for the free advertisment! Although we don't need it actually, both of our servers are full 24/7; and we have a very unique way of dealing with the NS forum idiots when they pop by!

    It is entirely possible that your server has a cheating admin... don't put too much faith in your admins. It may not be true, but there is always a possibility. I've been on a few servers where I (and many others) thought admin cheating was IMPOSSIBLE and yet there it was. Infrequent, but there, and that definitely leaves the door open for continued (and covert) abuse, if the admin in question knows how to get away with it.

    I've even seen servers with MOTDs mentioning "if you suspect an admin of cheating, type 'somecommand' to view the admin status console" or something or other talking about being able to view what all the admins are typing/doing in their consoles, to see if they're cheating.

    Hrmm.

    Anyway... trust is often blindly distributed and similarily abused.
