A Use For Sens Chambers?

<div class="IPBDescription">sens first chamber</div> me and a friend were just mucking around on a server and he wanted me to get rid of a few sens chambers (cos of that annoying voice thing) and thats when i noticed just how tough they are!
it took me nearly a whole HMG clip to kill it
so what i was thinking is maybe put them infront of offence chambers to soak up a ton of damage
not only that they only cost 10 res a piece

i havent tried this, but it may work

    Ive used sens in this way in alot of places

    A: filled up red room's vents with 6-10 of them
    B: Made a ladder up to bothersome vents
    C: made walls to completely block off areas
    and my peronal favorite
    D: used a bunch of them to ladder up to vents then put O chambers staring down them, jetpackers beware ;-)

    The problem is you got to teach the others the new way of play: <b>Waiting for prey</b>
    A good skulk team with cloak doesnt leave a chance to marines. They get pinned down to mainbase!

    The sensory itself is cheap, strong and parasites MArines who touch it. (Sad, would rock if it parasited with range like skulk!!! <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo-->)

    Since when are the sensory chambers that strong? I could have sworn that when I knife them, they go down the easiest of all the chambers.

    Sensory costs 14 rp. I think. Like all the other chambers (off, def, move).

    Well, I know that they are the only structure that OCs will fire through... But they are fun to make walls out of :-D

    No, they cost only 10 resource points...I havn't heard or tested SC having tons of hitpoitns though...Were you missing with the hmg or what?

    Yeah, sens is 10 (guess it reflects that they have weaker abilities). Sure cloak rocks but hey, adv hive-sight? Not on your life. Also, knives kill sens towers pretty quick, you sure that hmg wasn't missing? On a side note, only just found out that sens tower parisites don't do any damage. Probably because I rarely see them <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo--> Pity, because as aliens it's very handy. Of course, as i'm usually gorging, I do like the healing power of the def chamber. Really helps with forward defenses.
    Maybe if they make all towers buildable from the start it would change this around.

    also note that the sensory's parasite only works when a marine presses himself into a sens, its not like "brush by and get parasited"

    An arguement against sensory chambers upgrades is that it only works on if you know the enemy is coming. Because cloaking isn't a base buster weapon like carapace and adren.

    However, if one were to place sensory chambers all over the map, wouldn't they know where the enemy was always going?

    Nah, but you would know marines are moving because the hive mind finds it best to scream "THE ENEMY APPORACHES!" whenever a marine walks by. It gets annoying because whenever the hive says anything i'm usually listening for footsteps and I can't hear anything at all when it talks...

    Well sensory realy sucks for attacking, but you could be affective if you had 3 skulks rush to the hive you are palnning on taking, have them cloak there and wait for the gorge or the skulk that is going gorge, and let him build and when a marine runs at the gorge to kill him the cloaked skulks eat him.
