Server Lag....strange.

I have just seen screenshots for a 30 player server with pings of average 150 ms.
All the singapore servers lag like CRAZY when they are full or nearly full(16-20 player servers.).Structures partly cause the lag.....but its obviously not ONLY structures because other servers with more players can get lower pings.....strange......in the middle of an intensive game on a 16 player server, average pings are about 400 ms.For 20 player server, its 500-600.Why?The gaming portals in charge of the servers dont exactly have 486 computers as the server machines...could anyone tell me why they lag,but other servers dont?

Yeah, you gotta wait for us admin types to wake up first. You can bet I'm not awake before 10 most days <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->
Then, I need coffee and a Dew. Bare minimum before the brain starts functioning. I think I'm addicted to Yellow #5 or somethin'.
Anyways, to address your question, sounds like the servers you're on are running out of horsepower. Each structure's AI is run by the server, so if you lose performance with lots of structures, the server is most likely crumbling under the load. The server has to track and relay the actions of every player as well, so lots of players contributes to CPU exhaustion. They may be hot-rod servers, but if they're running multiple games at once, the resources available for you game may not be adequate.
That's the simple answer - there's a lot more to it.
