<div class="IPBDescription">Marines vs Alien, the Eternal Battle</div> The command screams at you to advance to the next doorway 10 meters across the hall. Sticking you head cautiously out around the corner, and though your Nano-Tech Ballistics Helmet, you see movement around the marked doorway, you tell your commander for one lone marine, it is nearly certain death. Sliding your head back into safeness, your screen flashes saying "Parasite Detected, Code 27015" "Shxt.." You mutter to yourself, with a deep raspy voice. As you slide your hands into your ammo pouch, you have 1 clip with your Cx10 Startard Issue pistol. You eject the empty clip, and insert the new. With the empty clip, you slip yourhead out again, and throw it at the end of the corridor where the designated Marker is on your helmet. You hear a chuckle and slimey footsteps in the pattern as a dog would use. As the Small 2/3 meter high creature, you aim your precision shot pistol at it, and shoot. CLAK CLAK CLAK CLAK! With wasting 4 of you 10 bullets hitting once, you curse at your luck and know that your "element of suprise" is gone. With that, you check the reverse side of the corridor, all clear. Stepping out carefully you see it again. it LEAPS at you and it gets so close that you notices the scales on its skin, then disappears... "Where the..."

"MARINE MOVE YOUR **** TO THE NEXT MARK POINT!" Booms over your intercomm system with the team commander

"Yes sir." As you realize your clip was cut short with only 4 bullets, you snap at the commander "Where the hell is the rest of the clip?!"

"You tell me Soldier, get moving!"

Grimmacing in disgust you look for weapons that could be of use. Ah, the "Last Ditch" Knife. as you look at the knife, you see the single blade side, with 2cm jagged bottom. chuckling to yourself you dash back to your previous spot. You hear the same dog steps, and as they come closer, your breathing changes rhytms, getting shallower and silenter, as the footsteps stop, you see the "Parasite Detected, Code 27015" flash up on your helmet again, as you realize its a tracking devices, you whip the knife around the corner blindly, jsut as the alien leaps around the corner, and you are left with <u> <!--emo&::skulk::--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/skulk.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='skulk.gif'><!--endemo--> , The Other White Meat.</u>

Well, you may have been in the same situation as me, Im here to tell you, that the knife is one of the best most veritile weapons. It does 30 damage, Umbra-Proof, and never has to reload. Here is a thread where I want to see some other peoples knifing expericences, or tips and tricks! HAve fun n post some stuff up.

I just switch to bite as a lerk and you die. I suppose you are lucky.

yeah, lerk's bite is as powerful or only a bit less powerful than a skulk bite. Do lerks bite do 50 or 75 damage? I do it all the time as lerk: Run up to marine, umbra; marines starts to shoot me, and realises I have umbra; marines runs into umbra with knife or gun; I bite 2 times, marine dies.

    lerk bite does 50 damage

They do 75 now. I love this knife because people underestimate it or are too afraid. In the former, you can easily get knife kills because skulks who underestimate the knife just rushes up to you. To counter... sidestep a little and knife!!! For the latter, switch to pistol or back to LMG =D

Lol Yeah. Lerks with umbras continue to try to run and spike you, and you just wait till they hit and edge, and jump on em. Or if your lucky, you can get UNDER, the lerk/skulk, and they cant damage you, might be a bug but I use it effectivly (I.E. in ns_hera, at marine start break the vent and sit far back, skulk rushers will DIE.)

knife is awesome when your enemy is totally clueless.

in the very first game of NS i played, i knifed an onos who was clawing our CC.... it survived with 0 health boxes left <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->

i've lost count of the fatties i've knifed.

    i've knifed about a dozen fades.... incredibly fun/funny/demoralizing to see <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->

and i've stabbed more tahn my fair share of lerks, even the smart ones.

Yah, back before my clan got our server, my best bud [SoM]Slayer...welll..he got himself accused of cheating quite often. Personally, He is just lucky and skilled. He would rack up about 7-15 knife kills a game, and I have seen him get 2-4 kills in a row at times. Its a very damageing weapon...its just not as good melee as the skulk..but still..it does alot of damage very quickly. NEVER under estimate the knife.

hehe sidestepping knife fights a bit like bullfighting -
I've gotten several skulk kills bullfighting
in addition to the mandatory lerk, fade, onos etc ^^

Oh, and gotta love those underwater knife fights. <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo-->

btw a skilled lerk will be able to bite you as well as if a skulk if you are that close.

Ignore the commander for now, move to an open area and taunt til the skulk comes out and then fire, with decent accuracy and plenty of room you'll be fine. Why ignore the commander? Well if your dead it doesn't help him either, and if you live with the new strategy you can move on and complete the objective.

knifing fades is pretty awesome but not as awesome as the fade actually running away from a knife!
