they mention the mods at #3, and especially Natural Selection:

Sure, quality wildly varies and the vast majority of Half-Life mod projects started are never finished, but there are some real gems out there. One of my favorites is Poke646, a unique single-player mission pack that... well, just try it.
With so much stuff out there, there’s always something new to play. Which is nice.
