Command Menu

hi,
There is a problem with the command menu, which is also right click and such. My keys r properly binded too.
when i click that it doesnt show the menu but it shows like upgrades and some weird words in white overlapped upon eachother on the top left corner. and theres no way i can be an alien without the command menu really. or a soldier. i need that menu.
id be very thankfull if someone could tell me how to correct this.

o yea tech info,
633 mhtz speed. 64 mb ram. Cable internet.
dunno about graphics cards n uhh. i ran NS in ...Software graphics...
I have a 3dAGP Intel Direct graphics card.
n i dunno what the heck EAX.

    Software rendering mode isn't currently supported by NS, as far as I know. Can you try using Direct3d or OpenGL?

    i think i can do D3d. that will fix the command menu bug? if that does it then thx a ton!

    ok the advise you gave worked somewhat, cept i cant connect to servers often, or it just crashes and i dunno wont work. I also tested myself, i made a lan game and it let me be in the place where i choose what Race i will be. i went into Alien and it froze.
    same with marine.

    Your card might not support D3D totally.

    If you REALLY want to play NS, you can use my script. Only thing is that you will not beable to build things. Only upgrade (as alien.)

    Just download it and unzip it to Half-Life/ns. Then in your console type "exec menu.cfg" without the quotes. Or I think you can add "exec menu.cfg" in your autoexec.cfg.

    oh ok thanks! i dont build as an alien anyway so its no problem. Does anyone know if ns will be software supported eventually? Myself i know, as well as a large ammount of half life users whom dont have the Big money for these new comps can only do software modes. i can upgrade my ram and speed but the graphics card i dunno anything about. how much is a good one and how is it installed and such i dunno.
    is the geforce series a part of graphic cards? i need to totally upgrade my comp sometime so i might as well put money into more ram and a good Graphics card.

    umm, yes GeForce are one of the top sellers of graphix cards, another is ATI

    as for installing a gpraphics card, if you have ever installed a card into your mobo you should be set (it really isn't to hard)
