Sound Trouble

Hey, I just installed NS, but am having trouble hearing sound. I can hear the GUI sounds for the main menu, and when I go to certain areas of a map, I can hear ambient sounds like music kick in, but nothing else. No gun firing, no footsteps, etc.

The sound works perfectly in other mods. I have a SB Live 5.1 Platinum. I've tried reinstalling NS, and I've tried disabling and enabling A3D and EAX, with no change. Any ideas?

Thanks in advance.

    Try going to START >> Run... and type in DXdiag. Check your sound tab to see if your hardware acceleration is set to full. Try reducing the slider a bit to see if it helps.

    Enable EAX, disable A3D...

    (A3D is great if you have an Aureal sound card)

    Thanks for the suggestions, unfortunately neither of them helped. I still think this is something mod-specific, because my sound works fine in DOD, CS, and other mods. Even in NS I can hear menu sounds and background ambient sound effects, just not the important sounds like gunshots and footsteps and damage, etc.

    Any other ideas? I'm still trying things myself, but I'm baffled. <!--emo&???--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/confused.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='confused.gif'><!--endemo-->

    I have a SoundBlaster Audigy and I know that Creative released new drivers recently, try checking to see if drivers for your card were released too.
