those ***** annoying jps get whats due
i see this very often in games, a gorge will block all the entrances to a hive but not enough that a JP/HMG marine will fly streight in go to the hive and destroy it. follow some simple stepps to prevent this. some of this may seem obvious but i still see hives taken down by JPs far to often for my taste.

1.) stack OCs on top of each other at low doorways - generally i leave only 1 exit from a hive available to aliens. this stopps those ******* Jpers makes em have to shoot their way through.

2.) webb infront of and behind OCs - yes the webs in front will usually be ok but in the event the Craftier Jper finds a way through the ones behind will get him.

3.) webb the high places in ur hive if at all possible

4.) place OCs around the hive room - if theres a small corner where u can see the hive from and not be hit by an OC then get an OC there

5.) vents - some maps have chamber freindly vents close to hives get in them and places some chambers to block those vents off to jps of course include some webbs.

6.) lots of DCs under the hive

one of the other problems is if all the entrances have been blovcked first then its quite likley u wont be able to place OCs due to many being in the area, so it may be a good idea to do the anti JP stuff before blocking entrances.

Don't stack OC's on eachother, the ones at the bottom won't fire. Instead use DC's for the bottom layer, like this (seen from the side, X is a DC):

    O
    XO

And placing a couple of OC's in the actual hive room is a good idea, that really makes it a lot harder for JP'ers, 3-4 is usually enough

Yea don't clump the OC's in the hive room spread em around, imagine you're MR jper orbitting the hive, you want the JPer to be flying towards OC's lots.

Actually oc's will fire if you stack them....you just gotta do it in a certain way.

please explain how to do it.

to add to this thread, if you can, you should put some chambers...perferably ocs but any is good to keep the jper from easily sitting there and knifing the hive.

you put the ones on top set back a little and the bottom ones fill still fire forward.

if you stack them directly on top of eachother the bottom will not shoot.

Stack them like this and they will all work fine.

    8 = OC

    |8 8 8 8
    8 8 8 8 8 looking at them face on

Also build OCs on the top of the hive to prevent the jps from sitting up there and shooting the hive.
