Just a question
Strange thing happened the other day, I was playing on Bast and the commander kept asking all the marines to turn the lights off. This went on all game and yet no-one had any idea what he was talking about. IS there some secret area in Bast that can shut the lights off? (did a forum search and found nothing) If there is a way I'd love to hear about it

In the marines' base there are large lights on stands that shatter and turn off when you shoot them.

Why would you as a marine want to turn of the lights in bast? It makes it hard to see things both far and close. And who benefits from not being seen untill they are real close up?

Maybe they want to hide a few buildings?

On either side, shooting out those lights is annoying... can't see anything if you're playing with proper gamma settings. I know that a number of players don't have that particular moral restraint to factor into the need to win, but still.. seeing a Marine shoot out the lights makes me want to go over and punch them repeatedly in the head until they promise not to do it ever again.

I always thought it was shooting the pipes in Steam Generation that triggered the lights to go out, but I must be wrong.

on that note, placing the ip on those lights... why?
I can't see it making it any harder for skulks to eat em and it makes em damn hard to build. Perhaps I'm missing something here.

Is the an advantage to placing ips on the lights?

i'd say it makes the skulk thats eating it an easier target.

it's easy enough to hide buildings there already.
