<div class="IPBDescription">something i dont know if someone has men</div> has anybody ever considerd a marine rush with the objective to destroye the enemys only first res tower and then killing the gorge if there is one?

it would be really great , because res income would slow down and to get just 1 more rt they would need 13 for gorge and 22 for rt makes 35 res and that without any rt and that means it will take years to get the res...

well, i imagine that would be a tactic where many aliens would quit the game <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo-->

what do you think of it?

    gorge hunting is pretty common.

    however, since all Kharra players start with 10 res, it wouldn't take _that_ long.

    Gorge hunting is common, and should *always* be done, regardless of what point in the game it is.

    You could always just drop a shottie and two and go straight for the hive, passing up the RT...

    Depends on the hive, some of them you can't spawn camp but camping the RT is easy..

    Ideally they run on 3 gorges at start with 3 defs under hive (making a direct rush very hard).

    You hit their perm gorge as he goes to build the 1st RT, then take down the 1st RT aswell

    It'll slow them down by an insane amount of time (good 5-10 mins at a guess).

    Hrm, considering the res tower has about half as much hit points as the hive, it's much easier for a marine team to take down the hive on a rush. Much more effective, too. I mean, at winning.

    Taking down their resource node would push the alien's into an almost perfect defeat.
    Do you know HOW long it takes for resources with 0 nodes? FOREVER! x.x

    Excellent in caged with either pumping or stability. Power silo for nothing, the rt in refinery, and perhaps others.

    Well dpeending on the map...examples like Bast if they started at refinery getting at that one hidden res they start with would be alot simpler then the hive (and the newb aliens will never get you!)

    Archiving, datacore on hera would be quicker to hit the res tower if you didnt want to run in (in the case of datacore) have a nice hallway as a killzone

    sewer, generator in caged

    thats all i can think of

    What I was saying is that if the aliens are going to let you walk around in their first hive and attack stuff, shooting the hive doesn't take that much longer, it's easier to hit, and it will *definately* win you the game. Not that you would lose anyway against that team. Remember, there are ultimate goals and proximate goals. The ultimate goal is to kill their hive, so why bother with the res if you're there anyway.

    Of course, on a map like caged, getting stability and pumping station are way easier than assaulting the hive, so if you can't get in to the hive, killing res is still an option. However, if you have the choice, please shoot at the hive. <!--emo&:0--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/wow.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wow.gif'><!--endemo-->

    Imho killing an RP is *alot* easier than killing an RP alot of pub players don't realise how important the 1st rp is, and just assume 'someone else will do it'. Attacking the hive however makes people alot more nervous and you'll soon have the whole team on you back.

    Oh and RP's DON'T heal. Many gorges forget this making them easy to take out on a 2nd run.

    the different between res and hive is that the hive is healing the skulk at 20hp per tick giving him time to dance around waiting for you to run out of bullets before chomping you, or doing hit and runs... but at the res, the skulks have to either chomp you or die to your bullets

    notice also you can knife a res node relatively safely while another person guards, but at a hive the person guarding you is gona have troulbe killin the skulk chomping at you and being healed at 20hp per tick

    you could have a couple marines attack the hive as a distraction while the others empty their clips into the rt and knife it. a little health spam and you will be able to take down that rt in one rush

    When im commanding i just send a rambo out to kill gorge / res towers, just generally distract aliens.

    Thats if im not doing a jp rush.
