Remember the Alllaaaammmoooo
I was cleaning out my pics dir today and came across a theme of 'last stand' NS games. You know the ones, where you have no chance in hell of winning and now are playing just to see how many skulks you can pistol out of mid-air before they xenocide you. Here are a few samples, now post your own!

---------------

When you're turtling in the maintenance corridor on Bast, you know you've run out of options...

What the heck, at the very worst they'll trip over the turrets when they come in...

Unfortunatly I haven't been playing long enough to get any decent pics.... BTW, in that last one posted by MonsieurEvil an Onos corpse is clearly visible next to a marine holding a knife, can we infer something about that? Or was it all just turret action?

I actually remember playing in Monse's first post.

That "N" Corridor is so small you have to either duck or use /unstuck to spawn correctly. Most of the time you just got telefragged by the next guy though.

well what I am thinking is the turrits bashed the ownos hard enough to leave him at 10-20 Hp (poor no redempt) but the knife finished him.

you should also post aliens last stand a gorge sitting in dcs and ocs saving up for a hive... It ended in the whole other team going Gorge and babbler rushing us to death.

Oh, and I also found this one quite amusing. We had lost our base, guys were dying, and I just happened to come across a corpse like this...just like in anime!

bah, I wish I had the screenshot from the actual game. But once I was commanding and out secondary base was overrun by Onoses. (I knifed 2.) I had one marine with a jetpack and I sent him here.

(That base got owned, but he relocated to the fenced-in resource node lol)

i got a bunch of pics from a crazy 2 hour standoff in tanith. We got pushed back into Waste Handling and we held there until the fades exploited the vent bug, anyway a bunch of pics on my site....

I've had 2 alamos as commander, but I didn't get any screenies of them.

The first was on bast and 2 marines took out engine room just as our base was about to fall so I dropped a CC there and jumped out of my CC to help the remaining marines at base hold off the aliens. when all of us at the base finally did die, we respawned at engine and I hopped back in the chair and we ended up surviving for about 15-20 minutes.

The second (and the best) was on nothing. once again we were being overrun so I sent out my best marine with a HMG and a jetpack to secure the red room, on his first attempt he got killed by some OCs, but on the second try he found a way around them and got into the red room unnoticed. When he got there I dropped a TF and 3 seiges for him, eventually we had a whole base in there, including phase and observatory. When marines started spawning into the red room I actually said over voice comm "welcome to the Alamo gentlemen". We lasted in the red room for about 30minutes, during which we attempted to take down cargo hive and repeled numorous attacks. but slowly we were losing the base so, I activated the distress beacon ^_^. About half the of the marines spawned back in our original base (which was surprisingly empty) and started building the CC and RP tower that I had placed for them. (BTW it is really freaky starting from scratch when you know Onos will be coming into your base soon.) I didn't go comm this time, but we did manage to stay alive for another 10-15 minutes before we were overrun and (finally) killed.

ns_tanith. We were mostly just playing around, but we were still getting whipped on a 4v4. When the Bile Bombs started to hit, we ended up fighting back the first wave.. the aliens were good enough to give us a little lull.. so we decided to go down in style. Comm recycled everything after dropping HA/HMG/Welders for all, and a set outside the CC for himself. Just stood there in spawn and waited, with no IPs or turrets to back us up. Ended that we repelled four or five assault waves (they didn't go for Spores), killing two or three Onos in the process each time and medpacking/welding each other between waves, reloading our ammo. They had to mass-bilebomb us in the end.. probably would have held out longer if we'd bothered giving anyone a GL. ^_^

One on one Lan game. He let me get three hives, I let him turret farm. I think I made a mistake...

I dont know how many turrets there were, but he said that in places, he could walk over them like they were the floor. All of them powered by one Turret factory. I'd poked my head out as an onos for 2 seconds, notice the health. I've had to reduce the size of the picture quite a bit due to restrictions, but if anyone wants the full pic I can email it to you.

Oh, and by the way, no, I couldnt break the turret farm

Ha! I think I was in that one with you, on the other team. We had about 4 Onos running around unable to do anything because they couldn't get in the vent. Then we had people gestating into fade inside vent so no one else could get in. I don't know how long it took us but we lost viaduct hive once or twice to siege.

My buddy and I were yelling at our teammates trying to organize xenocides but no one wanted to cooperate

Once we were being completely raped by fades on Bast, so we decided to retreat to the control deck (or whatever you call it). We set up a full base there, with IPs, armories, and all the works. The small passage into the room was blocked off by a well-placed CC, but the aliens could still enter from the bridge (which was a real bridge, over a reactor). The commander put a single CC down to slow the bigger aliens who would have to crouch to get over. The entire team then set up in defensive positions, even though all hope was lost.
We actually did manage to take down quite a few big aliens with our puny LMGs, because they were forced to run down the bridge in single file to get close to us (kind of like the bridge of Khazad-Dhum, for you Tolkien fans ). Our concentrated fire shredded them to pieces. It was the best. defensive. position. EVAR.

Attached is a pic of an onos that we killed before he could get even halfway down the bridge.

well, you could have easily broken the turret farm if you had just gone fade and bile bombed. once i played a similar game on nothing (2vs2) with giant turret farms all throughout the upper level of the map. You bile bomb into the center of the turret farm, and after a few shots they go poof in the dozens.
