Marine Red-laser Targetting Things.

<div class="IPBDescription">Are these server-side options?</div> I've played NS from the start, just recently started playing NS again after a short haitus.

Just last night I was watching my brother play and it seemed all the marines had the little red-light targetting things.

Those are SO cool.

He was playing on a small server (I play on big ones) so I guess it's usually turned off for lag issues?

When ns changed from 1.2 to 1.3 that red laser beams were a tested plugin feature on 25% of all publics.

- Pings
- Ballancing

If by cool you mean groin grabbingly dumb than yes.

You will immeadietly stop thinking how "cool" they are after the 9th time you are killed by a skulk because he saw your laser showing through a wall.

I actually asked the creator of that plugin to make the beams colored differently so that a Skulk could know the exact loadout of any Marine forces incoming before they got there. He said he would, but I haven't seen it yet... the plugin was actually put in place as a balancer, so the Aliens would know where the Marines were coming from easier, with Motion Tracking being so overpowered. I loved it, mostly as I could wait until a Marine was looking somewhere else before skipping down behind them and eating 'em up.

These are a plugin that probably won't go official, precisely because they completely give away marine positions.
