    Don't put the cc far away from the spawn so distress beacon works the right way. Also keep the sewer control rooms quite close to each other somewhere in the middle of the map because otherwise when one team controls both there would be no use of them.

    Will surveillance cameras be integrated sometime in ns?
    I think that a Titan 6 should have some, any marine structure should...
    and most certainly in this so far future...

    Some people don't seem to be reading this thread properly, it is Marine Vs Marine... there would be no Skulks or blinking Fades.

    The Marine spawn is where the CC is, so the players would spawn near the CC if distress beacon was activated.

    Keep the control rooms close together in the middle of the map? How would that prevent one team from taking over both? It would make is easier for one team to takeover both. To get around this problem, I've put the control rooms quite close to each base, see the very rough plan on the previous page.

    The old trigger_camera entities don't work for NS, and to be honest, I never actually liked them, the way you have to go up to it and then view it in full screen. It would be nice if it was coded so that, when you went to use a Surveillance screen, a smaller window would appear (kinda like HL TV) which would show the place you wanted to observe.

    SamR, I meant that once one team gets a grip of both control rooms, its probably going to win anyway, because they have pushed the lines stright near the enemys start--> no use of controlling both room. BUT if the control room were closer to each other, the other team could actually have some advantage for getting them both, because the game wouldn't be over then.

    nah the TSA isn't Star Fleet. Thery're more like UN peacekeepers in a galaxy full of rouge states.

    I am bringing this map back. It was virtually complete as an NS map, but has some issues, but now I'm converting it to the ULTIMATE Combat map! w00t! (since it was originally intended for marine vs marine play, but that still ain't done).

    Rejoice!

    If anyone has any cool ideas, post them here and I will implement them (if they are indeed cool) ! Yeah!

    Looks to me like an additive light just off of the wall. With 297 wpoly, there's no way it could be all made of worldbrushes.

    I didn't even notice that until Coroner brought it up. Nice job on making it look natural.

    I started this map like... a year ago or something, and it's absolutely huge, but not finished (it all needs to be joined up). However, I am now going to convert it into a smaller Combat map, but not too small. It will actually probably be quite big for a co_ map, but nevermind.

    Now you people have to spur me on, because otherwise, I'll never get it finished.
    I need enthusiasm!

    So er, keep watching this, I'll do some work on it today, and hopefully get you a layout image (you can see what it looks like basically from all the previous screenshots in this thread).

    Woot, this seems awesome.

    Combat is basically a simpler version of normal NS. The marines' mission is to destroy the hive (there's only one hive) and the aliens' mission is to destroy the marines' CC. There is no commander, and no buildings other than the armory, CC and hive. For each kill you get some experience, and when you get enough experience you'll level up and you'll be able to get new weapons/upgrades or new lifeforms/traits.

    Cool, so the marines start with an IP/Armoury etc, or does someone have to get in and build them?

    Or do I have a choice over that?

    No, no IP.

    Place a CC and an Armoury and they are pre-built. You will need the new fgd for that though, or the Armoury will not be in the entity list. Also Combat only requires 1 hive.

    Personally, I think this map looks way too good to waste on Combat. That may just be me though.
    Can't wait to play it in any form.

    Without sounding like I'm blowing my own trumpet, I know what I've made so far is pretty good, but lots of my friends say there aren't really any good official combat maps, and that there is room for a champion map <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif' /><!--endemo-->
