Jus watched a news report about how a leaked document from the Pentagon tells how the USA are testing mini nukes at los alamos. They can be attached to a cruise missile and dropped into bunkers to "Nuke" the contents bout cause no collateral damage. Hmmmm.... /me having flashbacks of Starship Troopers!

I am such a geek.

this is old news. us has been experimenting with them as a much-needed upgrade to bunker-busting missiles. what we use now is completely ineffective past a few dozen feet. tactical nukes have been suggested as a way to destroy bunkers and circumvent all the bad diplomatic stuff associated with strategic nuclear weapons.

unfortunately, the thing still leaves a wake of radioactive fallout...

What we need is a better way to kill people en masse with less reprocussions!

"unfortunately" for the weapon designers. i never said i backed up the thought of people annihilating each other in nuclear fire.

Killing people full stop is a horrific thing! Killing them with "mini nukes" is unforgivable! Can you even comprehend what dying from a nuklear explosion is like? No you can't!

I ask the question - who has the most wepons of mass destruction?

I would imagine the initial blast would be similar to any explosion. The fallout would be the worst part.

If you get caught in the flash, you're gone instantly.

If you are far enough away to get hit by the blast, but not killed, and exposed to the fallout, you'd better pray you have enough strength to pull your pistol from your holster, and put it in your mouth.

Now just think of all the people in Hiroshima and Nagasaki that weren't killed by the blast. And their children.

Poor people, the US went a teensey bit too far dropping both A-Bombs. Hell, one directly above Tokyo in low earth orbit would have scared the Bejeezus outta them, with the proper announcements by the US over all civillian radio channels, Japan would have been much better off (But without the Godzilla series of movies)

They were actually going to drop it on Mount Fuji, or rather threaten to do that. That's what they told the scientists but at the last minute they decided to kill a city instead Einstein went to his grave a broken man; he was horrified that he'd been intstrumental in Hiroshima and Nagasaki's destruction.
Note: To the readers unfamiliar with Japan, Mt Fuji holds tremendous spiritual and cultural significance to the Japanese. Threatening to blast the top off it would have had a massive impact on the Japanese government and people. But hey, since when has the US worried about causing civilian casualties
