If you're up for the task, here's a good tutorial on familiarizing yourself with WorldCraft/Hammer:
<a href='http://www.planetquake.com/worldcraft/tutorial/index.shtm' target='_blank'>http://www.planetquake.com/worldcraft/tuto...rial/index.shtm</a>
It'll walk you through making rooms, corridors, entities, brush manipulation, and so on. It should be enough to get you started.
ChromeAngel's NS mapping guide is a good read for NS-specifics:
<a href='http://nsworld.ns-central.co.uk/mappingguide/MappingGuide.php' target='_blank'>http://nsworld.ns-central.co.uk/mappinggui...appingGuide.php</a>
Aside from that, familiarize yourself with the Search feature of this forum. You can find answers to just about any question you can think to ask, and most mappers will be happy to answer a new question or at least point you in the right direction.
Good luck! <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->
<b>Don't post a new thread in the forum for every question you have.</b>
Do a search for threads about your problem/question before. And search for other tutorials.
You can find ALL (And i mean all) of your answers without posting.
<a href='http://www.vlatitude.com/tutorials.php' target='_blank'>http://www.vlatitude.com/tutorials.php</a> (the ones down on the bottom)
then, once you get a hang of using entities and all that:
<a href='http://ns.valve-erc.com/' target='_blank'>http://ns.valve-erc.com/</a>
this helped me a lot.
mapping it tough, and jumping straight into NS mapping is toughest, because it works so close to the limits.
HL is easier, you get to understand sizing, basic mapping entities, how to layout, solving leaks and other errors, and r_speeds/lag wars first.
AsturizGomez.
I'm just getting in NS and im finding it alil difficult even tho i have mapped for TFC before <!--emo&???--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/confused.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='confused.gif'><!--endemo-->
I used to tinker with UT DM mapping, and I'm still finding some aspects a bit tricky as well.
Just about every time I sit down to map for a few hours, I'll end up figuring out a better way to do something I've already got done in another part of the map. Probably half of my mapping time is spent going back and re-doing previous sections. <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->
Thanx in advance guys
Have you configured Hammer to work with NS?

Oh god tell me about it...im dead picky and end up not finishing maps AT ALL <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo-->
