    Gammal DNS kanske, eller olika vägar dit. 150 låter inte bra, då föredrar jag nog Aes servern, samt de andra nordiska servrarna.

    Jo, men jag spelar uteslutande på Amerikanska servrar och 150 ping är det bästa jag sett än så länge. Vad jag menar är att han har rätt i att det är bra ping, sen förutsätter man väl att man inte bor på andra sidan jorden... som jag.

    Möjligt. Jag hade annars tänkt informera vår vän att "ping" är ett relativt mått och är endast giltig för honom, jag har jättebra svarstider mot URL'n jonathan, oemuser, alexander, thola1pc, och router, men jag tvivlar på att många här ens kommer att få tag på IP addressen inom mitt lokala nätverk. Typ < 10 ms, och 1ms mot router. Även om det är väldigt bra så är det endast väldigt bra för mig, medans resten av världen nog får betydligt högre värden.

    English would be nice ( no offence <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo--> ), the only thing i can make out is ur still talkin about '150 ping' stuff, ne way, about the newb's with the comm/gorge stuff, like teddy said, that helping newbs (one's that r ready for the bigger roles) is a good thing, as it turns out, it helps you in a way... in many ways actually for instance:

    1. When they have gotten the hang of an important role, they become adept to it, and in turn, make your game better...

    2. When they find a role they'er good at like skulking, or building etc, they can commit to a clan, (@ they'er choice), cause right now im tryna form my own clan, (check for details in the Clan section, under
    |AB|~|2aven *^*), who knows, they might happen to enrol in one of UR own clans....

    3. If they'er a commited player and is experianced in the long run, they can provide good competetion to refine your own skills at playing

    4. Like before, when they have become experianced, theyll spread ur own knowledge from what you taught them to another newb

    I can go on too.

    So really, everything goes in a circle, U help a n00b, they improve ur game, then they start some competetion, and when theyer good, they help some1 else like they were b4.

    MOST people in this furom was taught by someone good, like me, I got all my help from players exchanging tip's, one thing i do alot is i just start a lan game, build everything (marine/kharaa) and experiment, test the upgrades effectivness or find little nooks and holes to snipe/bomb/hide/pounce/sneak.../...chuckle? (to destract ppl) and so on...

    You were all probably newbs to this game, and other mods b4, everything takes time to adjust, I mean, I kickass on Firearms, but i suck on Day of Defeat, theyer both the same sortof gameplay, but with a completely different interface.

    So you see?, You should give newbs 'A' chance once in a while (I dont mean to let em run the show, but rather show em along)

    I've got a whole list of comm abilites that aught to be added.

    - In game forum, so you can read the NS boards WHILE playing
    - Popcorn and candy vending machines, when used it increases your resources, at the cost of the users health.
    - Homing bullets, automaticly hits nearest kharaa object, no matter the distance, you don't even have to aim on the general continent your target is located at. Note that of course they don't pass through wall, if there's an obstacle they just go around it.
    - Super siege, no LOS needed, infinitive range.
    - Nuclear blast, destroys everything
    - Corridor Phase, switches mod to CS

    To compensate for the new marine abilities, the aliens will have a new ability, the "stand around and look stupid" ability, which renders you immobile for the remainder of the game.

    So, what do you think?

    Hmm marco.
    You seem to be the only one having trouble joining.
    Because we get almost 5000 connections to our server daily.
    We also get 200 new wonids day.
    Maybe its just your isp.
    Or maybe you just got kicked for some reason and is angry.
    Maybe you should just try another server eh?
    I know you really love our server and everything but it would probably save you the trouble and just go look for another server that u can actually connect to.

    Comm needs the ability to click on a player's name and set them to 'not spawn'

    They dont respawn and instead you get an extra 2 res each time they would have spawned =)

    "D00d! Gimme hmg!" click click. "Type kill in console so i know you are full health and all."

    As for the server stuff blah.

    Two gorges can be very effective.
    No arms lab before 3 d chambers can be also if you instead spent those res phasing and turreting 2 hives.

    Akuma you are taking the Michael now, I am sure of it. Giving comm the ability to delay respawn on a by player basis? C'mon think about the misuse, or acidental use.

    As for using the res from an arms lab to phase and turret two hives?
    Arms lab = 45
    first wep. upgrade = 20
    second wep. upgrade = 40
    motion tracking = 45
    total = 150

    Phase = 25 ? or is it 20... could be wrong so I'll say 20, you'll need three.
    TF = 25 x2 for two hives
    Turrets = 19 x 8 cos 4 turrets can hold a hive from anything, honest <!--emo&;)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/wink.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wink.gif'><!--endemo-->
    Total = 262

    Now I wouldn't go as far as to say it's not worth defending a hive. It depends on the game but pinning down 2 really has to wait until you've got resources comming in, and to hold resources early in the game I have found weapon upgrades and motion tracking to be really effective. Especially as you can have all the upgrades for your troops, plus three phase gates and have change left over more more res towers. You can use marines to defend the area's. I tend to only put TF's down if I don't trust the marines to kill the aliens on a 1:1 or better ratio or if I need a seige somewhere.

    As already mentioned though, I haven't won a lot of games putting this much faith in the marines on a pub server. Newbie Proving Grounds was especially embarasing yesterday.

    Did you mayhaps missed the last part? Where I sucessfully established a datagram "connection"? (AF_INET, SOCK_DGRAM, IPPROTO_UDP)

    Server I play on a good bit we normally do charge for two hives quick. Secure with turrets and at least 2 marines each and hold.

    8 ppl each team

    2 home
    2 1 hive
    2 2nd hive
    1 comm
    1 rambo to just plain annoy aliens.

    Its worked beautifully if you take that 1 guy to also help on other hives you can simply begin to sit back and upgrade to max on the 3 res nodes you got from robbing the hives.

    normally you can forgo the TF and turrets for a little bit but the phases are sorta nessisary..and mines are beautiful.

    holding two hives with phases and mines show em how its DONE! =P
