    For a real blast to the past, check out the <a href="http://www.overmind.org/NewsArchive.html" target="_blank">old news</a> here, back when it was still called Aliens vs. Humans.  If you check closely, you'll see that the first official announcement about the game there was 2 years ago next week.

    People, please, return to sanity.  Reread my post above.  NS is almost <b><span style='color:red'>2</b></span> years old (older, probably, since Flayra was probably thinking about it <i>before</i> he got around to writing a story and shifting it to the web).

    Wow, I can't believe NS started almost two years ago.  My first memories of it were closer to August of 2000 or so.  Back then, it was just a story I wrote, nothing more.  I didn't know the engine, the game features, the fact that it was an RTS/FPS hybrid, or even if I was going to write a game.

    The mapping and some texture creation started around September of 2000.  The coding really got started in early April of 2001 (though some of the user-interface was done a bit before that, nothing major).

    We'll definitely have to have a birthday party on Tuesday. :)  I wish we were close enough to give out a birthday present in the form of NS to everyone... :)

    lol yeah, 1st of august... way to set your expectations to something realistic, guys!
    And I gotta admit I'm pretty glad you guys decided to change the name. Aliens vs. Humans... sounds like a B-Movie...
    So many people have waited so long for this thing to come out. I bet at the last moment the entire design team's hard drives are gonna explode or something...

    Seriously, as NS nears completion, I bet the design team just can't contain their pride... this is the most graphically polished half life mod I've seen before, and if the gameplay is half as good as the graphics, you'll have a CS killer here.

    Wow, i cant believe how far NS has gotten,Almost a year old!Ive been watching the forums and rooting for Ns everday waiting for it to be ready.I dont post in the forums much anymore but i will be Rooting for the NS team all the way.Thanks for putting so much time into Ns it is shaping to be the best mod ive ever seen. Ill be watching the forums till the day Ns is finally done.Cant wait Great work NS team thanks for all your work on the game.Hope to play the mod soon!
