Need Help

hey people...i havent been able to play NS for about..say..two months now..and it really sucks.
My HL.exe has been playing up, and my WONID stopped working..

however, i have CS Retail and seeing as it acts as a rubbish version of HL.exe, i think i can get NS to run off it.
problem..i have 1.3 RETAIL patch and i need to install the other patches..worse problem...i have a 56k modem..

Now, there is no way in hell im downloading the Full CS RETAIL 1.5 patch...
so i tryed to look for the 1.3 - 1.4 RETAIL patch...but guess what?? YES...i cant find it anywhere....
Any help as to where to download this would be very much appreciated...thanks.

Just one question..would the WONID be the same as the HL.exe?...cos if it is..im pretty screwed then...

    Umm.. Not sure where you can find older patches, most sites delete the old ones when they grt new ones. BUT if you have the normal Half-Life you can install that and just use the cs-retail CD-key. Because WONID is based on cd-key. Unless the cd-key you can't use is cs-retail...

    Another thing - <a href='http://www.getright.com' target='_blank'>GetRight</a> will allow you to DL large downloads even if you might disconnect part-way through. Great for dialup users. Good luck!

    hmmm, well do you still have the HL update on your harddrive?

    If you do, I would recommend reinstalling HL and applying the update again. If you still get a WONID problem you can try reinstalling AGAIN, but use your counter-strike retail cd-key (which works with half-life also.) If you don't have the HL update then, yeah you're pretty much screwed.. You will have to download the HL update again..
