I wasn't trying to make the whole pic the same background color, I was trying to make the part with the text the same BG color as the forum BG color, but when I turnes the .psd into a .gif useing imageready, it put all these little light spots in the pic.

If my englich teacher looked like Amarao I would cherish that class like it was the only thing that gave my life meaning. And I would be a very pathetic person.

If a color one is popular i'll color my sig to match <!--emo&;)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/wink.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='wink.gif'><!--endemo-->

I made the sucker in photoshop and saved it as a gif, but for some reason the edges were all jagged and the transparency didn't work properly. Anyone have any suggestions?
(Right now, I'm using a box-ed version <!--emo&:(--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/sad.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='sad.gif'><!--endemo-->)

<!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo--> the jagged edges are because you have probably saved it in optimised for web thingy that normally happens

His response was helpful, he was telling you it wasn't a valid sig image because it's too big and breaks the forum rules.
As for the jagged edges and such, there are many things that can cause that. Gifs will only use transparancy for a single shade of a single color which you choose. If a color is off the assigned one by even the slightest amount than it won't be transparent. Causes for this can be loading the image from a jpg than saving to a gif (jpgs compression changes colors) or perhaps using feathered edges which look good in image editing software, but since gifs only allow full or no transparancy, there is no in-between so things such as the airbrush aren't always the best idea to use on edges.
