<div class="IPBDescription">Do you like this sequence?</div> Hi everybody.
I wanted to make an a bit different weldable thingie instead of the old vent-that-can-be-sealed. So I build this sequence and now I want to know if you like the idea!
Try it out, I don't want to spoil too much at this place, just try it <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->
D/L: <a href='http://www.jonah-squirrel.de/pry/ns_pp2.zip' target='_blank'>***Click me***</a>
Just load the map, join the rines (not that you have a choice, at all *g*) and follow the corridor till its end. Enter the room to the left, press the button, and watch the crane <!--emo&;)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/wink.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wink.gif'><!--endemo-->
Notes:
* It still lacks sounds and it isn't solid yet; these are things to come, of course
* Later, you will have to weld (repair) the button before being able to activate the whole thing
* Notice the grate in the floor; Later, a vent will lead from there directly in the MS. So the sequence will be needed to do to stop the early game's skulk rushes!

PS.: Please give me also comments about the texturing/lighting/layout of the corridor; I'm not yet happy with it at all, tell me what you think what I can change / add to it.
PPS.: Can somebody give me some nice FOG settings for the particle system? (Volumetric fog, that is) It's possible, right?

Comments
1. I got stuck here.
2. The first time the sequence runs, it is fine. However, if the game ends (either team wins), and a new round starts, then it will appear in this state. Try entering sv_cheats 1 after the sequence has run, for example.
3. The crate and arms are not solid. You cannot jump on them, and can walk right through the crate, so blocking the vent would not work until you made them solid.
4. The button only works the first time. I was expecting it to go back and forth. Maybe this was planned?
2. Well you're right, it only runs once (as for now) hmmm I'll have to see if I get it resetted anyhow. Otherwise, I can forget it I think <!--emo&:(--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/sad.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad.gif'><!--endemo-->

4. No it wasn't... see 1. <span style='font-size:8pt;line-height:100%'>(edit) ummm.. 2. Geez. It's 6 AM here and I didn't sleep. *g* (/edit)</span>
Thanks for the constructive reply, tho <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->
Its all to do with HL movement code and slanted surfaces. Normally, you fall down parallel with the wall until you hit the floor. If the wall pushes you into another wall, and you havnt hit the floor, then the game still tries to drop you down, to no avail. And you are stuck. There used to be spots like this in ns_caged and a few other maps.

The reason for number 3 was that I tested the map at 5AM. <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo-->
