Opengl Mode Is Not Supported By Ur Video Card

You know, I wish I could explain this error... it never happened about 5 months ago, but now it's like every 3 days. What I CAN tell you is that rebooting your computer will probably solve your problem. If not, try getting a friend to send you their OpenGL.dll

either update ur driver. get new graphics card.. or use direct 3d =D

if it is XP, roll back your driver.

Then (no matter what version it is) re-install the newest drivers (normally the detonatorXP from nVidia if you have a GeForce)

Once you install them DONT TRY TO PLAY BEFORE REBOOTING. That is the critical point. Don't try to play beefore rebooting. guess wat? i have GE force 4 a very good graphic card and i allready re-installed it but it didnt work

With the Ge-force graphics card the drivers recommend that you remove the old ones before and reboot before installing the new ones. This can be tricky because Windows has a habit of finding the GF4 and re-installing it. (at least XP does) so you have to cancel the install so it starts on default drivers and then run the setup.

... did u uninstall old driver propertly? if not do it then reinstall new one =P thats how i got mine to work =) u mean opengl32.dll?? nvopengl.dll? which one u need =P

Hello, my name is Acecool and ill be your techy dude :-P


Ok first, open up device manager, if you dont know how to get there, right click my computer, hit properties and goto the device manager tab, or goto hardware then device manager button.

Next up, make sure you have your drivers/cd handy, click the + next to the video card area, right click the video card name and click uninstall, reboot your computer.

Next you should see you only have 16 colors, so far so good, you better have that cd ready, or the driver install,

Install, then reboot your computer.


Try to play in opengl mode, if it doesnt work, reinstall half life, then it should work.

This happened to me on an ati card, this is what I did, and it fixed it, now on nvidia geforce 2 :-) lol
Anyway if that doesnt work, try updating your card, but doing this should give you a 100% chance of getting opengl to work again.
