Curious About Flamethrowers

<div class="IPBDescription">Scopes on LMG's too</div> I've heard a lot of people tell me that flamethrowers were considered to be a weapon for the marines in early version of the game. I think that would be a cool (and pricey) adition to the marines arsenal. I'm sure that it has been talked about before, but with the new abilities being added for the aliens, will it be considered for 1.1?

Also, just a question...the scope on the top of the light machine guns, why is it there if it has no use?, though it would be a cool upgrade.     To sum up:

    No flamethrower till Flayra can figure out how to make a volumetric flame weapon that runs on a P3 400 Mhz.

    Scope, doesn't work. May never work. Could be cool if it did work. We'll never know.

    Of course none of what I say is official...it just comes from reading lot's o' posts.

    Flamethrower: will be added if/when Flay can get a nice-looking, fast-running volumetric flame/napalm effect.

    Scope: the scope was artistic license by the dev who made the model. NS doesn't need a sniper weapon, and there are no current plans to add a secondary fire button (which would be needed for a scope).

    In the NS world, the LMG is a multi-use weapon, the TSA's standby (rather like the M4/M16/Mp5). In indoor engagements, the close quarters render the scope useless, and it is disabled.
