well......basic checklist.....

1) as much ram as possible
2) as fast a PC as you can afford
3) as much bandwidth as you can get

4) running Linux <!--emo&;)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/wink.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wink.gif'><!--endemo-->
5) raid (software raid is fine) - so it still works when a disk falls over.
