<div class="IPBDescription">What if we....</div>Clanplay seems to be what will make this mod fun in the long-term, so i was thinking of ways we could make the whole ordeal of finding a clan, practicing, whatnot easyer and more enjoyable. Here's what I came up with:
Everybody signs up into a big database, of all players that want to play into this ladder/conferance. They all, effectively, become free agents. Now, people who declare intention to be a clan leader, though not being excluded from DB1, are put into a seperate database.
All participating servers parse their logs and create stats, keeping stats of all the players wishing to become clan leaders. After a set period of time, all servers return their stats to the main database. there, after many hours of parsing and compiling logs, we have the list of top players, and top potential clan leaders. the top 4/8/16/32/64/128/256..etc clan leader cantidates become actual clan leaders.
Now, the clan leaders go through list of all applicants, view their stats, and a draft is conducted, the highest ranking team commander gets top picks, and so on and so forth.
Now, all players are assigned to teams (number varies by how many people playing). Each clan gets 4 weeks to practice their skillz as a team, and then a tournament takes place, with, say 4 different divisions, randomly picked. Round robin play first, knocking out all but say, 4/8/16 teams.
Then, a double elimination system starts, and the winners are crowned champ.
Then, based on their performace on the last round, teams can vote to draft new recruits, and veteran players can choose to leave their team, and:
1)Add themselves into the roster.
2)Place themselves in a pool, waiting to be hand-picked out.(really would only be useful for the really good players.)
Just another way of doing things, may add some variety to clan play.

tight nit group: welcome to <a href="http://www.xyberclan.net" target="_blank">xyber</a>:
We started off as a HPB clan back in 2001 (and yes, we kicked the crap outta LPBs with pings > than 350) (<a href="http://xyberclan.tripod.com" target="_blank">old site</a>) with just me and 4 of my buds from HS- then two of us started going to LAN parties- the peeps at the LANs joined, and we grew some more, but still a tight group, 'cause we all knew each other in RL. then we got OldMan into CS- from there we got a server, stats, and are expanding we have 3 peeps from alaska (we're based out of the tampa/st. pete area of FL), some others in virginia, N carolina, etc- we're growing a LOT, and still pretty tight.
How's this relate to NS? well, I've been showing some of my fellow members NS, and we may convert/add this to our server and to our LAN/internet skirmishes when it comes out (it all depends on the clan vote). So clans are also a way to meet other peeps too, thou you may never see then in RL
