<div class="IPBDescription">Here ya go.</div> Ok, glacier is going well, I had a bit of a problem involving the corridors, but I got them straightened out. Still some problems with ceilings and commander views, but I should be able to sort them out. Anyhoo, here ya go.

    Pic 1) Needs more detail
    Pic 2) Spice up the lighting! Maybe a lime green in the corridor? Also try and punch little holes into the walls...on the v_wad teckwall textures where you get the supports on the bottom 48 units I punched holes in the walls to make room for the supports. It looks ten times better, I recomend you do it.
    Pic 3) Bit flat. I love the shadow - shows good architechture usage.

    but anyway, i like it although the view of the glacier from the marine spawn has a beautiful metal wall in the way, i ask you this, why have a window that looks into a metal wall?

    But looks good, as for lime green, we left the 60's 43 years ago

    It's hard to see, but the wall is actually the corridor in shot 3.


    Oh, and yes, Command ops will be spruced up tremendously.

    The new corridor looks nicer but it could do with some shadowing. i think it would look really atmospheric with some blue lighting. (like the one in the pipeline hive)
    Corridor 3 (with the skylight) looks really nice, love the stairs. I recommend making the skylight much bigger, i want to to see some glaciers :

    That wall is just part of a giant battlestar a little away.
    You will be impressed when you see it from another angle I bet.

    As for Moconnor100, dont ask stupid questions. Ive played warcraft from the crappy graphics of the ORIGINAL carnage that was building many oil fields, many dread noughts and wiping your other oponents meaty battleship force in an all out sea warfare battle to end all naval battles.     I love the eight thousand skulk hiding places in your corridor of pic 2. It's just subtle enough that anyone who's not paranoid is going to get munched on, and if you're too paranoid you'll get whip lash looking up every five feet.

    heh, that was mainly the point. THe first ver I had, people said that the hallway was not skulk friendly, so, rather than shortening it and thus changing the layout of my map, I simply placed some hidey-hos for em <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->

    Very bland(sorry if you take that insultingly), the second picture is way too long of a hallway and needs a little spice. Maybe a few more touch ups, like pipes, and steam coming from the pipes every so many feet. This would make the hallway be able to be evened(somewhat), other wise aliens would have this big problem. Even with fog it might be a problem now that I think about it, turrets could be bad and spray and pray marines too.

    nah a good skulk can avoid 3 turrets firing at once and chomp them down, im experienced at taking farms down so it is VERY skulk friendly that corridor, dont worry bout spray and pray

    [EDIT] : as for steam coming out every few feet, probs with rl_speed starts to happen , makin it laggy for some etc etc, id rather try the map before sugesting anything else, the corridors could work out even though you think its "bland"

    I agree with plage that corridor is way to long. Try adding somewhere for skulks to hide unnoticed. Like in eclipse(station access alpha) you can hide above and down the side =)

    Guys, please keep in mind this entire section is like literally two rooms connected by two corridors. I released these pictures because people wanted to see some screens of the new map version, the content in these pictures in no way depicts the final version. I'm looking for concept ideas NOT asthetic pointers, things like "The corridor is a bit too long" are good, I will take those into account, but I will just skim over comments about the corridor being too bland.

    1) Style Test
    2) New Hive
    3) Marine Spawn
    4) Double Res Node Idea to fit in with layout of map
    5) Major playing areas

    Try using those five pointers above.

    No, this is completely my fault, I should have said at the beginning that these are just concept screens. I've decided I'm goin to put glacier on the back burner for awhile.
