My Voice Is Suddenly Screwed

Every thing been working fine since install - now suddenly (after installing team speak I think_ my voice across net games is screwed.
Local tests are fine as is voice loop back but no matter what I try cannot seem to get clear transmission to other team members.
Tried new Mic
Removed team speak
Tried sys restore
Tried removal NS and then HL and full reinstall
Tried reinstalling team speak and setting to real time transmission
Only thing not tired is cimplete reformat of sys and rebuild (God Forbid)
HAve just removed and reinstalled Audio Codecs and will see if that makes a diff.
Any suggestions / comments - please HELP really do not want to have to reformat for something so basic.
FYI - XP Pro, 1 Gig RAM, ASUS P4PE m/board, ASUS 9800 Super Fast Video, P2.66
