<div class="IPBDescription">How do you practice comming by yourself?</div> howday...i've always wondered how to create your own lan game and enable it so you can become commander and drop buildings. I know there is a way like sv_cheats 1 or something but i'm not sure the of the exact method. This would help alot in gettin familiar with a map and finding good building places for seige points. Help is appreciated.

More cheat codes are in the server ops sticky but
giveres is a useful one.

bigdig - makes buildings build them selfs
hightech - makes reserch instant
spawnhive - spawns a hive , if u want to try seige ranges, note: if ur using a lan then chances are u only have 1.0 so seige is diffrent now

Take it from an uber commander like me, the only REAL way to learn is with a good, helpfull friend and a few bots to play aliens...

Just a guy to walk around and say "build a Turret Factury here, it can reach the hive on the other side"

Thats how I used to train my friends and clanmates... it got better when bots came along.

Personally, I wouldn't cheat even if you are alone, it helps you get a feel of how fast recources can come at you and how much things can slow down the production of things. The only problems are that bots aren't the best way to simulate another team... possibly more friends needed there.

I disagree with kittens.

the point of cheating in offline games is to get an idea of what each structure does, how the tech tree works, and etc. you can watch the flow of resources in a real game.

to say that you have to place each structure individually as you recieve funds, then build it at normal speed.. and also make the long trek to different res nodes (most of which you wouldn't even know how to find, being a n00b) to build the towers.. it's just unrealistic.

so, anyway.. in an offline lan game, cheat away. learn the structures, the tech tree. then go into online games, and watch how commanders build, what order they use, etc. only way to go is up.

Must pimp product...OK! www.mercior.com dl strat plan, it isnt perfect but its alright for thinking up plans before hand, I dont think all the ranges are accurate though.
