1. Welcome to Yesterday, we all know about Rival Species. 2. Bhal the lead desginer on Rival Species said no to converting the models. 3. You cant use 2 different sounds for a model eg power first and chainsword, you can only use 1 SFX. 4. Look at the previous pages for what we wanted for the models.
point 1.. even the bolter ive converted looks better than the rival species one... the bolt pistol, is the same model ive already got before rs was released... the marine models suck... ok..you could use the terminators.. but they are crapy modelled..the skin is totally blurred. chainsword is ok... no use for the cybots.. (they are the only thing that rocks on rs)
easy spoken.. bahl can put his model in his *** im sure there will be better replacements comming for rival species... and from this doods we will get hopefully permission
i say it again...rival species was to much hyped by the rs stuff and the betatesters... its not worth the download time.. maybe when they get out of their "beta" alpha version... the gameplay isnt very good.. and the weapons are just look like wh weapons... they dont even fire the way they are supposed to do ,when someone have read the databooks ,codex and novels.. it looks like a fanmode by ppls who havent any clue of warhammer... maybe im wrong... but it looks like that

I edited the pistol so that the ejector port is only on one side rather than all the way across.
It's poly count is ~800 something.
I'm still tweaking both models. I believe I'm going to remodel the outer cover on the gun and create a built in area for the charging handle, and tweak the top rail

I had a bit more of a fiddle with it, and with some aggressive optimisation and no scope got it to a little over 700 polys, so with an (optimised) scope it'd probably come up to around 1000, which isn't so bad.
edit: now down to 650, and I think there's only ten or so left to be taken off.

And because I'm running very low on webspace, here's a whole other post in which to host the now 821-poly model. Maybe with the remaining 180 (as a rule of thumb I aim for 100 poly weapons, for some arbitrary reason) you could pop a 40k eagle (or whatever it is) on the side of the gun. They still have that, right?

Polycount without scope is around 1100, with scope is a little less than 1500. (I just haxxed it myself).
