<div class="IPBDescription">remade it a little</div> well after being extremely busy over the past few weeks, finnaly had the chance to get back to mapping and remake the marine spawn from the really dark look to something a little lighter and more marine friendly <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->

    Looks pretty nice! I agree about changing the consoles. Try adding some detail such as dips and gaps in the walls/ceilings. Also make those consoles give off more light and remove a lot of the white lights... Looks like a flashbang hit my screen <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->

    Computers at the far end of the room that are carved into the wall you should keep.
    What amazes me is that I am yet to see a map that is not a funmap and doesn't use nos_grate2 (Apart from ns_defiance).

    My main complaints are the total lack of shadows, and the flatness of the floor. If you toned down the lighting just a *tad* and inserted some light_spots it would look even better than it does now. I'm really liking the effect of all those computer screens side by side, but I have a problem with that console in the foreground (with the green screens), it just looks plopped in the middle of the floor. The floor in general looks too flat--it needs some height variation, and also some texture variation from the nos_grate and the diamonds.

    Other than that, looks good. Like I said before, I like the effect of all those computer screens, and also, for some reason, I like all that empty space above the hanging lights.

    Now on to the map. the architecture and texturing looks good, but as others have already said, the lighting is a bit bland
    If you work on the lighting this could be a good map

    With some lighting tricks, you can easily spruce up that room.
    Have a flashing red light somewhere, and change those light fixtures on the ceiling for small spots.
    Make the consoles do most of the lighting with texlights.
    Change those monitors hanging from the ceiling into holograms by making them "hover" over the console and making them func_illusionnary set to render distort and an FX amount of about 75.
