Excellent <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo--> We were full up till I updated metamod .... which forced me to get adminmod 2.50.51. It was crashing constantly... Ah well its all better now... with lerklift, unstuck, playerinfo, and phase meds and ammo.....

Phase meds and ammo? Ugh. Know one server I won't be jumping in on.

Whats wrong with phase n ammo? Its kinda interesting... Haven't decided if Ill keep it tho. The commander messages are somewhat annoying.

The server is in Rochester, NY US

Same thing that's wrong with health-dispensing armories, and healthspam waterfalls. They unbalance the game in a direction that the mods did /not/ want it to be. There is ONE Comm on the Marine side. His attention can only be at one place. Allowing him to toss meds and ammo into a structure and have them auto-drop on anyone who requests them is outright unbalanced. For one, the 'drop medpack' is a hotkey so it cannot be reduced to a single-key bind. 'Request Medpack' however, CAN be bound to one key. So as long as the Comm spams meds into the PG, the Marine has an automatic waterfall precisely on their position, beginning when they need it and ending when they don't. Same with ammo... caters to the rambos.

But even moreso, having a plugin like that will /spoil/ new players. They'll get used to having it, and when they don't (if they join a vanilla server) they'll get ticked off, because they never learned how to play the game properly.

I'll be more then happy to help ya test. I lost the address to the Sl33pl3s server back when Dest first said he put up a ns server.
Btw Talesin you can bind drop medpack to a key and the spam medpacks to your hearts content( or you run outta res which ever happens first <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo--> ).

No, you cannot. You can bind 'select medpack' to a key, and then drop it, but you must be on the menu where 'drop medpack' would be selectable. Vanilla NS client, you cannot make Hotkeys (all the Comm's drop commands) part of a script. They only work if raw-bound to a key.
Besideswhich, that only allows for medpack spam at ONE location, and relies on the Comm's ability to track the Marine with his mouse pointer. Calling for health, they just have to stand still for a moment, and it's bang-on. Phase health/ammo conceivably can have medpack showers at as many locations as you have players, so long as the Comm is dropping health like mad into the PG.

Again, an unbalancing ability. Though the Marines may enjoy being able to tank up whenever, that is NOT a part of the standard game.. and as noted, it will 'spoil' players on that particular plugin, so they'll <i>whine</i> that it's unfair when they come play on vanilla servers. Whereupon I will have to give them a clue-by-four to the base of the skull, hopefully hard enough to put them out of <b>my</b> misery.

Talesin, I'm with you on this one. I admit that plugins are nice and they can be fun to use, but it's so easy to abuse the health/ammo in phase plugin that it's sick. I can't decide whether or not I'm in favor of marines having a place to heal or not, but having insta-meds automatically dropped is not the way to go.

Talesin, i know what u mean..

it annoys me when people come to my server and start going medpack, medpack, and wondering why there not getting med,

it annoys me when they come to the server and make 2 observitorys in order to get nightvision.

it annoys me when they make a sensory chaimber next to offense chaimbers to make them go invisible..

it annoys me when they bother me to give them my rez using giverez comand..

    plugins, spoil, newbies

it should be a LAW to play on regular servers first.

[FACT] - Tale has this one LOCKED DOWN

Well I do agree that it can unbalance the game. If the script was changed so the marine has to be within 30 feet of a phase gate, That would make it fair in my mind. I agree getting a medpack automatically in remote locations is kinda unfair. I guess this problem will be fixed in 1.1, commanders will have a queue list for waypoints, healthpacks, and ammo packs needed.
